Trinity 48 Manual 13

There are a few details you obviously don't know. Stick to Ohio CF.

Again...educate me. I've now asked twice and no one is willing to share. This board has a PM feature...use it. If not, don't tell me to "stick to Ohio." I paid my BGP dues just like you Rock boy and I have every right to question the horrible decision making made be a coach in a game.

Please...HELP ME UNDERSTAND!

The same thing happened last year at the end of the St. X Manual regular season game. Coaches had to be separated when X continued to run plays and try to score and not take a knee.

Stop dodging...you know I'm right and you have no response. Just say it. It is a horrible excuse for what SHOULD be represented in an all-boys Catholic school.

I have lost all respect for Trinity if they let this clown's antics continue. it's about doing it the right way. At least, that's the way it SHOULD be.

I have always believed that the Trinity football program does things the “right” way. They are week in and week out the most prepared football team on the field. This obviously is a direct reflection of superb coaching. From the strenuous offseason workouts, to the early morning chalk talk sessions it is easy to understand why potential students/parents would want to be a part of such tradition.

We all play this game with the sole intent to win state championships. This above all else has been the biggest “recruiter” for THS. It has become the mission of both of our local 6A private schools to prove their superiority each and every Friday night. In such tough economic times it is difficult to sell a private education, so it is vital that in every opportunity they show why a private education is “worth it”.

But I have witnessed two instances in the past two years that has me asking, what’s the cost? In last year’s regular season matchup between St. X/Manual, we watched a coach with a one score lead risk a win to drive what point home? In a kneel situation with the game on the line you make such a mistake that your own radio crew is astounded. Now this year we watch a coach call a timeout (it sounds like this point is continually being missed) in order to put up 7 more points. Again, to drive what point home and to who?

(to add) I was on the losing end of Trinity’s win last week and had no issue with any play calls or personnel decisions. But what I witnessed last night was an embarrassment to such a great program. From a school that demands such high moral standards from its students I can’t wrap my mind around what lesson Mr. Beatty was attempting to teach his players. I only hope that the institution and its supporters are equally disturbed and will refuse to allow such acts to continue.

I think there is obviously bad blood between X/ T and Manual. I believe a lot of it stems from public/private positions taken. Now that all the teams are in the same district, I don't look for it to improve.

Is "thuggish" a code word for something else?

Thug'ish is refering to what seems to be an unusual amount of mouthing and personal fouls by T's players as well as questionable behavior by the coaches such as last night. It has nothing to do with race, which is silly. It has to do with the product on the field which is a football team. If T's own AD is having to restrain the HFC, you have a problem. It just seems that there's a lot of smoke on this subject, which more than often means there's a fire somewhere.

We are all very good football fans on here, we know what right and whats not. Coach Lucas mentioned the time out, if he wasn't upset why mention it?

Take a knee, you have won. We all have been on both ends of this, and we know whats right.

Was the kid a starter that scored? If he is, then there is a another reason this was done, doesn't make it right, just wrong.

Dawkins is the back up running back behind Bishop.

Many on here will bash Coach Beatty but would take him as their coach in two seconds if available.

Those people you speak of are something else. All they care about is winning at all costs regardless of the lessons it teaches.

I'm done with this. The indifference and lack of a "call to action" tells me all I need to know in regards to the difference between High School football in Ohio and KY.

I'm out.

CF, I would have taken the knee. But you are acting like this is the greatest travesty to ever take place in high school football. I think if another team like a public or non-traditional power team did this you wouldn't be so upset about it. Let's face it, it happens every week. Are you telling me Colerain has never been accused of running up the score? If not, great.

Beatty should have taken a knee. Period. He didn't. Why? Because he was picking a fight? No. He was answering one that Manual started before and during the first game. Should Beatty have turned the other cheek? I think so. Did he? No. Was Beatty wrong? Yes. Was Manual's AD David Zuberer far more wrong on several fronts both before and after last night's game? Most definitely! T hater's don't want to hear it, but Manual picked the fight (and tried on several occasions to instigate melees with T players when the game was decided). Did it justify what Beatty did? No. Was the Manual AD a little more over the edge because his son played on the team? Probably.

There are some that wouldn't want him. Those that are still mourning the departure of Kragthorpe at UL come to mind.

I have to concur. It was obvious before the game even started that Manual was thought it was in their best interests to try to provoke something. Sometimes when you poke a big bear you get eaten. That said, I wish coach had ignored the provocation and just pulled the starters and taken a knee. As is usually the case, it is the guy that retaliates that gets most of the blame.
