Just so I understand; Ballard is around 5-6 for most people?

 

Ballard who is 8-3 granted, with all of three wins vs. winning teams and wins against only 2 that are STILL in the playoffs after week 1?

 

Is this a case where their close losses are greater in some eyes than their acutal wins? :idunno:

It's actually 4 wins vs 4 winning teams, 2 of which are alive in the playoffs. But your point is well taken.

I am an SK fan but even non SK fans you would think consider SK in the top ten...I cant see how people wouldn't include them over Ballard, SK only loses one game in the state and its an OT loss by 3 to Ryle and their not a top ten team?

The problem is you have a lot of assumptions and got defensive when someone questioned it. If you feel the need to fire little comments at BG for being a State Champion once and a state runnerup 4 times in the past 15 seasons, then go right ahead if that makes you feel better. It's not Boyle Co., but hey not everyone can be a Boyle Co.

 

 

I got defensive when people said it was ridiculous for me to have Boyle and Bell County in the top 3-5. You got defensive when I said Boyle would beat BG. Had you even posted before that was said? I got defensive when you said BG had overall better team speed than Boyle and and would beat them because of that. I disagreed because we have beaten multiple "team speed" teams in the past 2 years. I take it back though. You are right. BG would beat Boyle and Bell County. I don't know what I was thinking.

 

Look, I am a BG alum. I am well aware of their accomplishments of the last 15-20 years. I will continue to criticize, take shots at and be generally disgusted at 4 poor showings in State Title games(Buffalo Bills of the 90's) when they had teams that were capable of winning it all and a 2 game losing streak to Warren Central with teams thought to be better than Warren Central's team. If those teams weren't that good, fine, I can accept that. I cannot nor will I accept losing when they fielded teams that AT THE VERY LEAST could have been competitive at the State Championship game. I am not just satisfied with being in the Title Game to put it on the resume. As good as a program that BG is to expect to have more than 1 Title isn't asking too much. Or is it? I am not the only person with ties to BG that feels this way. I guess I am just the only one on BGP. I apologize if my words made you mad. The last thing I want to do is argue with another Purple fan but when the Christian County game is a "flip of the coin" game and we wiped the field with them(2 years in a row)why wouldn't I think that Boyle County would beat BG?

No more argument from me. Highlands beat Christian County worse than we did and on a bigger stage. I will rightfully put Boyle County at #3 in the state and have a seat.

Judging by the ratings at the end of the regular season, Cantrall actually did a slightly better job of forecasting the playoffs than MaxPreps did, although they were both better than Litkenhous and Massey.
