To attempt to gerrymander these two outstanding programs - and deny one of them (if during any given year they happen to be the No. 1 & 2 team in the state) the opportunity to play in the final game - simply because of recent success is a sad commentary indeed.

 

Shame on anyone who participated in it.

If this does come to fruition, I don't like it. As it is, they only have a chance to play in the finals every other year. For the past decade they've proven to be two of the top three teams in the entire state, and they've proven to be heads and tails better than all the publics. I'm satisfied with the way it's set up currently, hopefully one day us Pubs can pull off the upset but this seems like the wrong thing to do.

I am curious what the proximity of Trinity is to St. X. Maybe the KHSAA is using geography to put the districts together in Louisville. Are they close to each other?

 

 

Not really. Ballard and Eastern should always be in the same district as Trinity really. All three are in eastern Jefferson County. St. X is closer to schools like Seneca and Manual.

I guess because I'm 90 miles away I don't see what the issue is if these two teams end up in the same district. Highlands and CCH have always been in the same district. CCH had strong teams in 04 and 05 that didn't get past Highlands. Highlands had a strong team in 06 that didn't get past CCH. No crying about it. Just life in the district.

Hell, Highlands and Covcath are further apart than that and they're in the same district. Harrison Co and Pendleton Co are 20+ miles away from those two and they'll be in that district too.

 

IMO, being in the same district just adds more to the rivalry. Makes that #1 seed more important for the playoffs.

My guess would be the KHSAA would put T, X, Male, and Manual all in the same district. Furthermore, if the decision could be made now they would add Ballard to that district.
