September 7, 201016 yr #1 - UK I've also been a fan of USC since the late '80's when Rodney Peete was the QB. Those are my two favorites. After that, it varies for me. I'm a fan of good football, so I pick up different teams from year-to-year it seems. I really like the Florida Gators when Steve Spurrier was there running the fun n' gun. I've always liked Alabama pretty good. I like Oklahoma pretty good early in the Stoops era (I was a fan of his when he was the DC at Florida)...not much of a fan anymore though. I like Notre Dame, Penn State, Nebraska and Michigan most of the time...love the uniforms, especially the Wolverines. I can jump on other bandwagons if there is a player or coach I really like, or if they play in a way that appeals to me. I like the old Smash Mouth, triple option Nebraska teams, for example. On the other side of the coin, Florida State and Ohio State are the two teams I despise the most. I don't believe I'd ever be a fan of either under any circumstances, but you never know. And, again, there are others I may dislike worse from year-to-year depending on variables such as coaches or players that I'm not a fan of. But, UK is the mainstay. USC, I always like, but obviously I'm not going to follow them as closely when they're down. For one reason, there rarely available to watch where I live right now, when they're good, so it's really hard to find them on TV in Kentucky when they're not relevant nationally.
September 7, 201016 yr Super fan of Florida State. If you ever get a chance to go to an FSU game and witness 75,000 fans doing the Tomahawk Chop.....you'd understand. Very impressionable moment for a 15 year old and I have been a loyal super fan ever since.(21 years and counting) I also defended Chris Rix for 4 years. Need I say more? Fan of UK. I did attend school there and I like and cheer at everything at UK except for the basketball team but even my hatred for the basketball team has softened considerably over the last 10 years. Casual fan of Duke but only because I like everything at Duke. I root for them but I couldn't tell you a lot about the team.

I agree with you about FSU, I think they have some of the coolest traditions in college football.
September 7, 201016 yr I am a huge College football fan. I enjoy watching college football no matter who plays. I root for the underdog a lot. As far as a true fan it would be Louisville and Fla. State. Those 2 teams I keep up with and care what it actually happening.
September 7, 201016 yr I pull for all the area schools - UK, UL, UC, Miami and Ohio State. I am a UK fan first. I also root for all the SEC teams to do well but I am not really a fan of any of them. I'm pretty much the same way and also cheer for Notre Dame, not OSU as much but some depending on who they're playing. I definitely don't own any teams clothing other than UK though. Do have a notre dame sweat shirt that my girl friend bought me thats one size too small, so it doesn't count.

Short run down, my dad was a huge UK fan and always complained about Laettner so I picked up on Duke that way. USC was my first college football game I ever watched so I got stuck with them. September 8, 201016 yr I always chose a team where I have lived but first and foremost I am a UK and WKU (Alma Mater) fan. Second would be Auburn. Third would be the U, and Fourth would be well I am trying to choose right now between Purdue and Notre Dame.

My college roomate was a big USC football fan and my other one was a big FSU fan...spurned my hatred for both.
September 8, 201016 yr I guess you could say 3. Notre Dame is my #1. I grew up watching them every Saturday. UC would be my #2 as they're right up the road, and UK would be my distant 3rd. However, I can sit and watch any college game.

September 9, 201016 yr A lot of folks I know believe you can only be a fan of one team, I disagree since I'm a fan of several teams. Notre Dame, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Florida, Texas and Boise State. You? I certainly agree with you RTS :thumb:. I call it being a fan of college sports. Favorites in football are Ohio State and U.K. are my two main favs but I also am a fan and enjoy watching Alabama,Georgia, Boise State and Texas. I love all of college sports. Now, as for basketball it is narrowed down to U.K. .....thats it. :thumb:
