Yep, all they'll need to be is withing 2 blocks of today's team meeting to hear. I think Coach W may have an interesting week planned for them.

 

I am going to go out on a limb and figure there will be a lot of board drills this week in practice. Not only were there arm tackles, there were a couple of times where a Trinity ball carrier ran right by some defenders and they didnt even put a hand out to attempt a tackle. I am sure they will dissect it on film and correct it or those guys will be standing on the sidelines.

 

I was very impressed with the way a couple sophs came in and got some quality minutes on defense. Reid Schroeder hung tough at LB and Blake Schutte #28 made a nice pick late in the game. Keep working hard boys and challenging those upperclassmen.

I saw a roster last night with height and weights and I am sorry but I have heard of adding a few lbs and inches but some of those boys grew 3 inches and put on 25lbs in less than 2 weeks. LOL

 

I always remember an old coach of mine by the name of Dan Hill (RIP), he said the first rule of football is the FAKE. LMAO

Highlands hasn't been on the losing end of a contest for a couple years now. Even though this is a scrimmage, I can't help but wonder what this does to the team mentally. I think it's good in alot of ways for both the fans and the players. I'm sure they'll come out firing next week against Manual while the Bird faithful will have a week to realize that this team has come back down to earth. Looking at the other scrimmage results with Dixie and such, it sounds like every game will be worth watching this coming year with no gimmies. Sounded like a great night in Ft. Thomas with even the losing team coming out a winner.

Congrats to both schools/teams for playing this game. A win-win for both. Glad to hear there were no (major) injuries. The T fans have been saying "we are young - inexperienced - and have a lot to learn." That is a serperate issue from talent. Maybe that might have some bearing on the D (or lack ) last night. Also not to be forgotten - is the team on the other side of the ball. HHS one of the premier programs in the State. They will and obviously did - test their opponents.

This year's team is a lot different than last year's group. That Sr. class last year was one for the ages. I do like the way Corey Compton stepped up last night and showcased his running ability. Towles and Compton will need to be the leaders on the offensive side of the ball and Abner and Sullivan will have to be the vocal leaders on the other side.

This was a dog fight last night. They won't see a team like this the rest of the year. Many starters were out throughout the game with cramps. What they are doing mentally is practicing and watching game films for next week.

Man, I would of loved to see this scrimmage!!

Sounds like it was a battle. T's defense is very young but tough. They will be extremely challenged against the Ohio teams, but will be ready when it counts. Go Rocks!

Unless I missed it I haven't seen much analysis on young Mr. Towles.
