The camp is not used as much to recruit the seniors, but more to recruit the Juniors. You are correct that this is an invite camp and Florida as of right now already has 12 commits and the rest of their recruiting class is all but wrapped up. I have been a member of the scout site fightingators.com and a lot of top prospects for this year have other team events. The Gridiron Kings 7 on 7 competition in Orlando and there was a 7 on 7 tournament in Talahassee (Imagine that). For Pike to get an invite to this event says a ton. I could see big offers coming for him.

 

I just didn't like the wording that it was the premier camp to go to in America, because it's not. It's a great camp and recruiting tool for UF, nothing more & nothing less.

 

Still it is a huge deal for Pike to get invited there. An offer from Bama last week and a trip to UF's Friday Night Lights...you can't do much better than that.

I asked on the Bama recruiting site to their Guru on recruiting. "Isn't it kinda funny for Bama to offer a QB who has never taken a snap"? He replied, he did something right at Bama's camp. I wrote back about my kid's team how we have a bunch of kids doing well and how a parent said.."wait until they put on their pads".

 

I then asked him"have we ever offered a QB who has never played at QB? Now, did he take some snaps last year?

Apparently Zeke Pike had a heck of a performance at the FNL camp. Bob Redman is one of the insiders on fightingators.com said, "QB Zeke Pike is a Driskel clone for next season." Driskel just won the MVP of the Elite 11 QB camp and on many recruiting services have him ranked as the #1 QB in the nation.

Yes. Not sure that he ever threw a pass but he has taken varsity snaps under center.

Well, I had to ask. I didnt think those kids looked familiar but who knows. I was trying to figure out how Highlands missed out on those athletes. LOL.

I for one can't wait to see Pike play. He comes from good pedigree, and apparently he's doing something right if all of these major schools are targeting him. The bar has been set high for the young man so I hope he has what it takes above the shoulders since below the shoulders he seems to be highly touted.

One thing that I noticed in the clips was that he has good feet that never stop moving. All the great QB coaches I ever had always look for quick feet that never stop and he also looks to have a strong arm. He's going to be a load to bring down, could be the next J-LO.
