  1. After a good 2013 season I expect North Laurel to have a good 2014.
  2. Looks like a lot of good coaches leaving the state. Hate to see that happen.
  3. What loophole? Players getting better? Players getting college attention? You want players to sacrifice playing college football so your team doesn't feel bad for it's self? If you don't like football then quit talking about it. Get into golf or something.
  4. Central is going to have a good season. They are becoming a state power.
  5. I have noticed that parents and casual fans normally post differently on here. And, sometimes you can tell when a disgruntled parent is looking negatively on a program. Just an observation. Congratulations to Ashland, I really expected a better showing by Raceland. It's looking better for my dogs.
  6. Is this an improvement for Mercer? I heard Dunbar had about 30 players. Not good for a program of a school the size of Dunbar. Nonetheless, congratulations to Mercer.
  7. Wow, Mayfield is looking to be an unstoppable force.
  8. I have friends in that area my friend, and they all say that if you question a single thing Highlands, you will get ran over by the mob. Well, what your six, big mob coming. They eat their young and you are on the menu. Sorry to hear about your young'n, hope he recovers fast and I'm sure he will be playing soon. Seriously, watch your six.
  9. More then a passing game, Kentucky teams just need to be well rounded. It hurts Kentucky football with one dementional teams, that is one of the reasons we lose to out of state competition. Too many Kentucky teams are one dementional. The combination of a good running game, a good passing game, and strong defense should be the focus. I know someone is going to give me an example of a one dementional team that is world beaters, go for it. But, realize that not every team can run every play and win the Milky-way Championship.
  10. This should be a great display of football by two quality teams. I think both teams will benefit greatly and this scrimmage will be great preparation for the upcoming season. I can't wait.
  11. My post is a cop out? Evidently you don't know what that phrase means, what I stated was a fact - every team has a goal to win a State Championship, just like every play is designed to score a touchdown. So, you say only "a few teams" have a chance to win a State Championship, please enlighten us with who those teams are so everyone is not just wasting time trying to do something they don't have a chance of doing.
  12. Yea, imagine, an entertainer doing something that is entertaining. What the heck was he thinking? And dang him for singing a song that people may like. I can't stand people like that.
  13. That' a cop out. Every team says their goal is to win a State Championship. Tells us, do you think Beechwood will beat Mayfield this year.
  14. The only problem with your prediction is for LCA to get the championship game they have to go through Hazard, literally, they have to travel to Hazard. Ask them how that went last time.
  15. Is Raceland going to be that young? I thought they returned some of there starters from last year.
  16. I'm glad someone is trying to straighten up the filming process, I have seen some that were unwatchable.
  17. I have some information - not good.
  18. Come on Ram, LCA is not going to be anywhere near last year. I saw their JV once last year, and they were OK, but not great. Frankfort may be above most schools, but not good enough to beat Beechwood. Doesn't Raceland have their QB back this year?
  19. I think you all are sandbagging big time. I remember last year people saying that Beechwood had "a great Sophomore and Junior class", and that "if someone was going to beat them, last year was the year". Just come out and say it, Beechwood is expecting to win the State Championship this year.
  20. Just what I have noticed: most high school players that I have been familiar with do not want to go further then two or three hours from home. This has been true for everyone except big big D1 programs. So, I would say anything less then D1 would be three hour limit.
  21. From the west I see a potential match up between Mayfield and Beechwood. I can't see how either one of these teams won't be there. In the east I have to say that Hazard is going to have a pretty clean shot at the finals. LCA has had coaching trouble and has graduated a "One team of a lifetime". I think Frankfort is going to have a down year, I don't see them contending. Some unknowns: Fairview has some new found talent from Huntington, West "By God" Virginia. Raceland has been reported to be young by some of their fans. Is Pikeville going to have a better year this year? Who is going to play Hazard in the Semi-Finals?
  22. What are the expectations for 1A this year? What teams are going to do well? What teams are going to fall out of contention early?
  23. That's one NFL player that I could do without showing up to mentor high school kids.
  24. Yep, I agree. People can say 7 on 7 doesn't mean much all they want, but it is a valuable practice tool, why else would so many coaches be doing it?
  25. I personally prefer the smallest 24 schools in 1A instead of the smallest 16. I don't think 16 teams is enough for a class, and the travel for only 16 teams is going to be just crazy. Some 1A teams travel two hours for district games now with 32 teams, what would it be like if only 16 teams were in 1A? I don't know if three team districts would work either, maybe six team districts. All though, I do like the possibility of scheduling seven non-district games.
