I like this kid. Give him a few years at Bama or UF or the like and he would be nasty. I hope the offers stick and he lands at the school of his choosing.

Does Pike have the type of recievers at Dixe to be able to showcase his quarterbacking ability?

 

He'll only have one proven receiver to throw to, and that's Leonard (#15). The rest had some varsity playing time, but none that really stood out IMO. He'll be throwing to guys that he threw to last year on the JV level. He'll also have an inexperienced line in front of him. There were a few that saw playing time last year, but for the most part, the line will be completely new. All these guys could have improved greatly since last year, like Pike has, but only time will tell.

I for one can't wait to see Pike play. He comes from good pedigree, and apparently he's doing something right if all of these major schools are targeting him. The bar has been set high for the young man so I hope he has what it takes above the shoulders since below the shoulders he seems to be highly touted.

 

Yea I can't wait to watch him play SK with Parker, Baldwin and Lockard blitzing every play he will have his work cut out thats for sure.

That has been brought to our attention and we are working on that problem.

The sad thing is Pike is not the best QB in NKY Lawrence SK, Towles Highlands, Kremer CC, Hempel Ryle, Jenson Holmes and Brown Newport will all put up better numbers they all threw for over 1000 yards last year.

Without commenting on individual players you list above you have once again proven that you really are incapable of seeing what a college looks for at the D1 level. I'm not saying one way or the other as to Pike's future but citing "stats" as a basis for a scholarship reeks of ignorance in the area of recruiting.

Agreed! Most in this forum is happy that big time programs are looking @ Pike; regardless of which high school program we follow! It is really ironic that SK#1 fan put a Ryle QB (Hempel) on his list. Afterall, we all know his feelings about the Ryle program.

First u don't know how i feel about Ryle I only think SK is better than Ryle. I think the 6 QB's I listed deserve the hype they proved there self last year. I just don't agree with recruiting kids unless they are a senior. I mean what happens if this QB throws 15 INTs and say 6 TDs what happens then? The offers will be gone and if it was me i would probaly be pretty upset. I just think the recruiters should leave kids alone till they become a senior.

Fair enough uk#1fan, but that is not how it works. I have questions about Pike, but they revolve around his maturity. The bottom line is he has the body build, heredity, etc. to appear to be ready for a huge next level. As Clyde has pointed out correctly before, this isn't about his stats this year. Others may indeed have better numbers, but that doesn't mean they are better suited for the next level, or even necessary better now. Dixie may not be as good as Highlands or SK, but that doesn't mean Pike isn't qualified to be an SEC player.

 

I am with others in that I need to see him QB before passing judgment. I have always though he was a good player, and I personally projected him to be a defensive player at the next level.
