July 8, 201016 yr My grandfather who died in 1993. It seems I've been thinking a lot about him lately. He was a 100% pure-blooded German who drank his beer at room temperature and occasionally tossed one my way when I was a kid and my mom wasn't looking. He was one heckuva great man in many ways.

July 8, 201016 yr Pick-up softball, baseball, and football games. Setting a trotline baited with salted eels out in one of the small tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay and catching blue crabs. The ensuing crab feasts, replete with mass quantities of the local libation (National Bohemian beer). YMCA summer camp. Every year for Christmas I would get something science-oriented. A chemistry set, a microscope, a telescope, a geology set. I loved that stuff. My last grandparent died 18 years ago, and he was 90 at the time. I still miss 'em.
July 8, 201016 yr My dad and grandparents. Friday Twilight doubleheaders. Wiffle ball games in my neighbor's back yard. All day at Southside pool playing basketball, and swimming. Monday Night Baseball with guys like Keith Jackson, Al Michaels and Howard Cossell.

My kids running to me when I get home from work, yelling daddy with their arms out stretched My mother and father, dad has been gone eight years and mom five. It seem like yesterday they were here.

As we know, she's in a much better place. Prayers to you and yours. As for those open keg parties........:thumb: And throw in a pig roast with them.
