April 14, 201016 yr 3 hours. I did spend one night in the infirmary at Morehead State. (See ttc's thread regarding tequila). :sssh:
April 14, 201016 yr A couple of days when my appendix was removed. I was in for 5 for the same thing.
April 14, 201016 yr Personally, 5 days twice for c-sections. With my son, 10 days when he was 8-months old, and 2 consecutive 5-day stays when he broke his hip.
April 14, 201016 yr Probably about six weeks, but several weeks on many occasions. During that 52 month period that I talk about all the time, I was in there 19 times for an average of 15 days each.
April 14, 201016 yr 10 days with Viral Meningitis. As a child, the hospital was my home away from home. I wasn't really that unhealthy, I just had a weak immune system. I've spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve, New Years Day, my birthday, and Halloween in the hospital. I've been to the hospital several times on family vacations. Basically up until the age of 18 or so, if a stomach virus came around, I was going to catch it and eventually be admitted to the hospital for a day or two. An IV always did the trick for me.
April 15, 201016 yr 2 nights a couple years ago with knee surgery. I hated every minute of it other than the hours I was floating in lala land on pain meds. Also, I gained a new found respect for those who've had to stay in the hospital for long stretches of time. I suspect I would not be a very good patient for a long-term stay.
April 15, 201016 yr Spent 49 days when I was 9.5 (1970) with a severe kidney infection. Probably wouldn't happen these days. Confined to bed and was supposed to be in a wheelchair to go to the bathroom. One of the first kids they used the new breed of steroids on for what I had (they worked and I avoided dialysis and a transplant whew), I wish I got to go all the places my medical records visited.
