91 days...post surgical infection from ACL reconstruction. Staph aureus (sp) in the bone required intravaneous antibiotics. Had a 105+ fever...spent first couple of weeks pretty much out of it. Don't take any surgery lightly!

This past Sunday marked ten years without a single night in the hospital. Obviously, I'm hoping to continue the streak; but I've got an issue right now which "could" put the streak in jeapordy. :irked:

Polio, graduating class in 1955, shots came just after. St Joseph's hospital in Louisville, this was first time I had ever seen a nun. I also had a young girl (20's) who came to my room one night before surgery to do an exam. She introduced herself as Dr. So and So. I told her she couldn't be a doctor because she was a girl. Probably not many females were in med school at that time and had a bit of rougher experiences due to gender bias. Perhaps she just had a bad day, at any rate complete with cuss words she let this 7 year old little boy from the country, in no uncertain terms, know that females could be anything they wanted to be. It still is the best cussing out I have ever had.
