April 14, 201016 yr 2 games over .500. Sweet! And 2 of the 3 losses came against 2 Cy Young finalists, don't forget. I don't like to accept the losses to the dominant pitchers like Wainy and Carpenter, but when you take care of the games when other teams are throwing average pitchers, I'll accept the close losses sometimes.

Yeah, but we can't hang on that forever. If you continue to win guess which guys you face during October baseball? Gotta find a way to beat them.
April 14, 201016 yr Still early in the season but we've been asking for a bit of "small ball" for quite sometime and it's been working so far. How many sac bunts have they had (position players), I've seen at least three in the past two games.

April 14, 201016 yr Gomes, Phillips, Votto, Hanigan, and Owings all big contributers tonight. Nice to see the team come back after the Marlins caught them.
April 14, 201016 yr Two games the Reds easily could have lost and they find a way to win them both, on the road no less. They are on a roll right now.

April 14, 201016 yr All five Reds’ wins have come via runs scored in the final at-bat. Nice little stat from John Fay. I hadn't really noticed that to be honest.
April 14, 201016 yr The Marlins are a good ballclub. I'd be happy with a split with the Marlins--especially with the horrible hitting the Reds have displayed so far. The offense has been able to produce some runs. I guess AVGJOE is happy already.
April 14, 201016 yr I wish Crusty Baker would just let Owings hit sometime. While I agree that sometimes he should be allowed to take a few swings that switch was the correct move. Hannigan had already been replaced so Ramon was coming in anyway. I'd rather have an everyday guy there than Owings.
April 14, 201016 yr While the Reds are not going to be a scoring machine by any measure, at least they are not the astronomically inept Astros. The Reds have scored 38 runs(4.75 pg) thus far; Houston has plated only 13(1.86 pg).
April 14, 201016 yr Dickerson 8 Janish 6 Votto 3 Phillips 4 Rolen 5 Bruce 9 Gomes 7 Hernandez 2 Bailey 1
April 14, 201016 yr I know the Reds next day off isn't until Monday, but rest Cabrera AND Stubbs on the same night?
