April 14, 201016 yr Well Stubbs had stuck out about 100 times already so I have no problem with that. lol Just 12 so far this year, of course that's 12 in 30 ABs and just 3 walks That was the one thing I didn't like about him when he came up last year and I finally got a chance to see him play, too many strikeouts. You figure he will learn as he plays more, but the number of infield hits he already gets, just imagine how many more he could get if he made contact.
April 14, 201016 yr I know the Reds next day off isn't until Monday, but rest Cabrera AND Stubbs on the same night? Well Stubbs had stuck out about 100 times already so I have no problem with that. Stubbs is bothered by a sore back, and won't play tomorrow night either.
April 14, 201016 yr Stubbs is bothered by a sore back, and won't play tomorrow night either. That explains it. Thanks for the info.
April 14, 201016 yr Last year when Homer put together his great starts, MORE than a few seemed to be against Pittsburgh, I took his success with a grain of salt. Another Reds starter that will barely make it 5. Ridiculous...
April 15, 201016 yr Cantu sets a MLB record to start the season. First ever to have a hit and RBI in each of the first 9 games of the season.
April 15, 201016 yr Fish win 5-3... Redlegs could have packed it up with down 5-1 but at least they battled.
April 15, 201016 yr Bullpen was beat up bad we needed a little more out of Homer but he stuck it out even though he didn't have very good stuff.
April 15, 201016 yr Bullpen was beat up bad we needed a little more out of Homer but he stuck it out even though he didn't have very good stuff. I do give him credit that even though he has struggled in his first two starts, he hasn't completely imploded and been knocked out before the 3rd. He has least pitched somewhat well enough at times to keep his team in the game.
April 15, 201016 yr Does he still have options? He could be the odd man out when Chapman is ready and Leake keeps up his good starts. Homer just can't throw strikes consistently enough. He threw about 12-15 pitches in the first inning before he got his first out.
