So it's good Cueto "only" gave up 2 runs in the 1st, but once again that pitch count.

33 pitches in the 1st inning...

The Reds score on in the 1st, but had an opportunity to score a few more. Gomes with a sac fly with the bases loaded, and then Bruce grounds one weakly to first on a 3-2 pitch. Cueto with a 33 pitch 1st inning as the Bucs score two. Cueto seems to get worse every year. To me it seems like he doesn't have near the zip on his fastball that he did as a rookie.

Bruce's only RBI of the season came on a bases loaded walk.

I was stunned when I heard that stat last night, I know he has struggled, but that's just awful.

He's not helpin the cause at all.

In 108 games in 2008 he batted .254

In 101 games in 2009 he batted .223

The way he is going, you figure he would end up around .230 or so

I would say that aint gettin it done

I have been thinking that Cueto's fastball has been missing some oomph, too.

Bases loaded, one out, Jay Bruce steps up.

Bruce hits one about 375 to center to plate 1. Both runners advance. Tie ballgame...

Yep, if I'm going to rip him when he struggles, he deserves credit for at least getting 1 run in.

I think you mean 2. :D

Cueto nearing 100 pitches, I thought that maybe if he could get a quick inning in the 5th, Dusty might bring him out for another, but I can't imagine it happening now.

103 pitches thru 5 innings for Cueto. I would think he's done.
