April 2, 201016 yr What exactly is the "Taco Bell way of thinking"? Tex/Mex fast food. Tacos, burritos, and enchilatas are great, but they're like eating hamburgers and french fries. Abuelo's has some pretty good authentic actual meals. La Mexicana used to have breaded bistec that was really good. My ex used to make some amazing meals w/ white rice and black beans on the side. (Full disclaimer, my wife is a better overall cook).

September 30, 201213 yr Are at Anitas last night. South end of Ft. Thomas in the old Frisch's building. Great Margarita, pretty good food. We sat outside, so no bearing on the atmosphere inside. I will go back.

September 30, 201213 yr Tres Hermanos is by far the best in the Ashland area. They make a dish called Shrimp Diablo that is out of this world good. Tres Hermanos is great. I still have a hard time passing up LaFincas but Tres Hermanos is quickly closing the gap.
September 30, 201213 yr Enter another vote for Abuelos's in Crestview Hills. (Nothing can compare to the Enchiladas and Dark Shoenling beer at High on Rose in Lexington. Went back to UK for a visit a while ago and was sad to see the tavern no longer exists.)
October 1, 201213 yr What does everyone get at Rio Grande that is so good? Fajita Nachos..Huge serving and they are delicious. I usually get some extra queso to add to them. The lunch serving is as big as the dinner portion and quite a bit cheaper.
