How is what I said hypocritical or justifying anything? With 4 million people in this state, I think it's fair to say at least 3/4 of them are UK fans. Cardinal fans number maybe a couple hundred thousand.

 

I'll give you another comparison: Would you rather drive 50 miles on a road with one or two potholes, or one that's riddled with them? No justification; just pure logic and common sense.

 

As far as your last comment, most fans are obnoxious to some degree. And my reaction to last night has been pretty mild; if I felt like gloating, you'd know it and be crying to the mods just like the rest of 18-percenters for the unpardonable sin of "runnin' down the 'Cats."

Most posters on those boards are teenagers. At least that's my prospective. On threads like who is the best player ever at UK. Tayshaun Prince wins.

KD I understand what you are saying but Jim is not a UK hater.He just can't stand the arrogant UK fans that are out there.I am a huge UK basketball fan just as you are,and I know there are alot of ignorant fans out there just as you do!It's not your fault or my fault that Jim and others dislike alot of of the UK fans.It's the ones that impose their love on UK basketball on everybody eles.The ones that kill me are the ones that don't get on board until the Sec Tournament starts. Remember that a true die hard UK basketball fan wins with Class and Loses with class!:thumb:

So as a UK fan, I am not permitted to get aggravated with the 18% or that means we irk you as well? Man, ... as a UK fan I guess I am just out of luck and need to keep my mouth shut. We apparently can't be in or out of the 18% without ticking somebody off. :idunno:

One other thing. I have never ever cried to a moderator. If I would it would be to LRCW or Spindoc and they will back me up on that. On the other hand you cried to the whole board about a private message I sent you. Hypocritcal once again.

Going to rivals message boards makes me realize how enjoyable BGP is. We as fans of rival teams may not always agree on everything but a certain level of maturity and respect is expected by BGP. I'm not a member of Catspause and never will be again because of the maturity level of the average poster.

 

Here is something all fans can be embarrassed about, I see it on UK, UL, UT, UF and many other teams message boards. The nicknames some fans call other teams are so childish. You can't convince me that the people that use these nicknames are college kids with at the least, a high school education. "Kensucky" , "LPT" and "Loserville" are nicknames given by UK/UL fans. When these nicknames are used it reminds me of a fight on the playground in grade school.

 

Can someone please explain to me what LPT stands for? I've always seen it on sites but never knew. If it's bad someone PM me if you don't care.

Just so everyone knows, BGP doesn't tolerate this. Doesn't matter what level (High School, college, etc.). Posts that reference teams by these childish names will be deleted.

 

And before anyone asks, this one stands because I choose to use it as a teachable moment.

I can't stand the ESPN, CBS, NCAA, refs, talking head, ect... hates UK and is out to get us. Guys I promise you the networks love UK for the same reason they love UNC, KU, Duke, ND football, the Yankees, and Redsox.

I am a big UK fan. I'm not a bandwagon fan and I lived through the dark era that was late Tubby-Gillispie. But some Cats fans are absolutely terrible to watch a game with. They can't sit there and watch a game and know that the other team is better. They can't have a productive sports conversation because it's always heavily biased. Don't get me wrong, I love Kentucky and our unbelievable fan base. But there are plenty who I cannot stand.

You're overstating that quite a bit. But, to be fair, you did threaten bodily harm to me. Not that I was terribly concerned; seemed more like a good opportunity to publicly embarrass you.
