What Irks You Most About UK Fans?

The deepest, darkest pit of depression. Either that or uncontrollable anger.

Careful, one of them will try to rip your lungs out, Jim.

Things that bother me most about UK fans, and not all of these apply to the sane UK fans.

1. UK fans will never admit that the other team was better. They only lose because of something they did, not because of something the other team caused them to do.

2. UK fans never see that their players are guilty of anything. It's always a bad call when UK gets called for a foul or when the other team isn't called for one. I'm pretty fair when I watch a game and I can usually admit that my teams guys are guilty when the whistle blows, and at times I'll even say man we got away with one there.

3. The bandwagon UK fanatics that only come out of the closet when the team is 20-1 and then talk more trash than all other UK fans.

Sounds like my girlfriend.

One of the biggest reasons I despise UK fans are for the 3 reasons above that you listed. Last night after the game all my girlfriend could do was talk about how West Virginia didn't deserve to be in the final 4, they weren't a good team, they won because UK did this and that, and that West Virginia had just played the game of their lives...not realizing they came in to the game with 30 wins.

Don't forget that any time you say something remotely close to #2, they automatically start bashing your team even if it's not the topic at hand.

I think a lot of UK fans are wayyyyyyy too sensitive. Even on forums like this one, you don't dare even insinuate a negative about UK without expecting a reprisal from an overly sensitive fan.

Unless you're me ... :D

I wonder if cases of domestic violence go up after a big season-ending loss? I do not mean this flippantly at all. I would suspect that domestic violence increases exponentially in the days following a season-ending loss like last night.

I talked to a local police officer last night just after the game, and he said he was expecting a lot of that in the hours after the game.

Sounds like my girlfriend.

Without a doubt UK fans always love things like "Well how many national titles has your team won?"

Oh, and the insidious, wide-reaching anti-UK conspiracy, especially in the media.

All of the reasons given are solid but also things that I see in a lot of fan bases.

Making all of it OK, of course ...

Their hatred for Duke, and the more funnier part, their belief that Duke hates them just as much.

Didn't you know that Duke and Louisville pooled their money to found ESPN and the Lexington Herald Leader???

So in other words, to paraphrase(out of necessity) one of my favorite musicians, Mr Zevon:

Their "crap's frigged up."

I knew someone has been paying Tipton all these years...

I wore my North Carolina jersey out last night after they lost just to see what kind of drunken reactions I could get out of people. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed.
