March 9, 201016 yr I don't think its crazy to expect 25-30 from those 2. If they are both healthy I see no reason they can't get to that. Add is 20-25 from Homer and Cueto and we are in business. Lets hope so.. Harang is coming off back to back 6 win seasons. He has been a horse but horses get tired. Arroyo is probably a .500 pitcher. 10-12 wins from both would be good.

March 9, 201016 yr Will make the playoffs this year. A couple of months ago I told myself I wasn't going to be optimistic like I have been the past two or three years. Well I'm not, I'm way beyond that. The pitching the Reds have managed to assemble has me, for a lack of a better word, ECSTATIC. Harang and Arroyo are both in the last year of their contracts, and history tells us how players usually perform during those seasons. Then you have Bailey and Cueto both another year mature and wiser, and you have Chapman, Wood and Leake battling it out for the #5 spot. I know the Reds have disappointed me the past few years when I was optimistic, but I honestly believe this year is going to be different. I know it won't take long for westsider, AJG, TheScribe, malachicrunch, Rocket, and a few others to try and pop my little bubble, but I don't care. I say bring it on. This is the year. Watch out baseball. The Reds are back after taking the last 14 years off. :dancingpa:dancingpa I'm not going to slam you for that prediciton. I don't think they'll be quite that good but I did like the moves they made this off season. I'd like to have seen them bring in Damon but overall they did well. I think they'll be around a .500 team with the potential to do better if several things fall their way. Its probably a long shot that everything falls into place but it isn't impossible. I don't think this is their year but I think they are moving in the right direction.

March 9, 201016 yr I think the Reds will be okay. The question will be at the plate in my opinion can they get good offensive production out of Bruce and Votto, and can other players step up. Can Rolen stay healthy for a whole season? Can Phillips keep it going. What will you get from Stubbs/Dickerson/Gomes/Balentien? A lot of questions but I think a lot of opportunity. I am very excited.

So unless he holds a team to two runs or less, he usually ends up losing. Unless he returns to his 2005-07 form Harang is an average pitcher at this point. His ERA the past 2 seasons has been right at the league average so his winning % should be better. He has suffered from poor offensive support. He may not ever be an 18+ game winner but with a better offensive team 12-15 is certainly realistic.
March 9, 201016 yr LRCW...I'm curious. If the Reds win 85 games and finish 3rd...both of which would be improvements from previous Dusty years...do you think Baker should go? And more importantly, do you think he WILL go? I too am cautiously optimistic about this year...but, I feel there are still too many question marks.

It would all depend on if there were any major injuries that might set the team back, but if there were none then yes to both questions.
March 10, 201016 yr I'm excited as well, LRCW. I hope that Harang starts off the season well. If nothing else, it'll save what little trade value he has left. Also, don't forget Matt Maloney in your discussion for the #5 starter.
