Larry Vaught Calls out Bob Knight

Featured Replies

I believe that Knight would have went with or without any controversy. However, I can see ESPN being concerned about what some of the signs might have said, or some of the chants that could have occurred and opted for him to be at another venue. I believe Knight would LOVE to have been hated on publicly. He likes being the bad guy.

Maybe because people like Larry Vaught are trying to make a story out of something that simply isn't there, and are contacting ESPN to see if Knight will be at the game.

Maybe your wrong?

Actually, the scenario LRCW laid out is highly plausible, and likely.

What would really be funny is if Knight out of the blue decided he did want to come to Lex, with the sole purpose of having a chat with Larry (whom I'm sure he knows, as Larry's been in the game an awful long time as well).

It must be chicken season in Rupp Arena tonight.

If Knight is not part of the Gameday crew, then why is he shown in the promo commercials that ESPN airs quite often promoting the show? Isn't it a fact that he has participated in the Gameday shows before? Sounds to me like Knight shows up when he wants to.

Bob Knight fears nothing.......NOTHING.

Why wouldn't they just say they he doesn't come to gameday anyways, that's why he's not coming?

 :thumb: Thank you for posting this. To think Knight is afraid to come to Lexington is laughable at best. He's used to being the bad guy.

Right on!!!!

If ESPN is making excuses so be it but Bob Knight being afraid of Rupp is comical!:lol::lol:

For those saying Bob isn't afraid to come to Rupp.... isn't he the reason the UK/IU games were being played at neutral sites? Because he didn't want to come to Rupp?

Nice gig if you can get it.

Never heard that one. It was about the dollars.

UK always wanted to play in Freedom Hall for their end of the series prior to Rupp but once Rupp was open they mostly played in Lex.

Knight is not afraid but Vaught makes an interesting point I still think is true. Knight is a bully who always leaves when he stops getting his way. For proof see: IU's dismissal after they would no longer tolerate him, Texas Tech as he wore out his welcome there, Jeremy Schapp's interview, and IMO; ESPN someday. :thumb:

Looks like you are also wrong.

So lets see Bob Knight isn't part of the Gameday crew. So ESPN includes his picture with the Gameday crew which is on the Gameday homepage. Interesting. Not to mention that ESPN felt compelled to issue a statement in which the blame travel conflicts as the reason for Knights absence.

Why hasn't the worldwide leader issued a statement explaining Jimmy Dykes absence?

All of you Knight appologist need to realize that Knight is a blow hard who lives off intimidation. Nothing more nothing less. World class nutjob who has been fired from his last two jobs for just that reason.

And Jim, I don't know Larry Vaught but I'm sure he isn't worried about an old man who just runs his mouth. Some journalist have a pair.

I think it's funny how one minute people are posting on here saying nobody's afraid to play in Rupp anymore, there's too many old people, there's no atmosphere, it's not a home court advantage, and the next minute, Bob Knight is afraid to show up at Rupp. Maybe Bob Knight is afraid of old people.

The I hope he isn't looking in the mirror much lately.

I am with you on this one. I don't think Bobby Knight cares one bit what UK fans think of him. In fact, he would relish it IMHO. I truly believe that ESPN is more worried about what some of the chants towards Knight might be or some possible signs that could be snuck in.
