January 28, 201016 yr Alright, I wouldn't normally put you up to no good, but stealing from a neighbor is just low. Here's what I would do: Buy some crazy loud, explosive fireworks that are shaped like cylinders. Drill a hole in some random pieces of wood and load them up. When they steal the wood, they'll get a nice surprise :thumb:

January 28, 201016 yr Good ole fashioned stakeout after you make sure they don't have wood for a couple days and then put a fresh pile out would make for a fun night. Or you could just put a large sign next to the wood that says, "You are being video recorded. Take the wood again and you will be prosecuted."

Probably once they realize you know it will end, if they are on hard times maybe give them some ideas or a place to cut their own. Bad deal but I am sure they are not hardened criminals here.

I believe this is your best route. I would go over to the neighbors and play it innocently. Ask them to keep an eye out for apparent thieves stealing your mother's firewood. Let them know you have alerted the police department and they have started an investigation. Never come out and accuse them unless they out themselves and then explain the potential criminal activity they could be charged with.

He loaded them with the trick exploding cigarette loads, ... within the hour he found the culprit. Priceless!

If the theft continues, I'd go back a second time, letting them know that you have set up motion sensing cameras and hope that they will continue to "keep an eye out" for the thieves. :thumb:

January 28, 201016 yr 20 bucks and I'll stake 'em out and take care of it. :lol: That's a hard situation, how about just telling them that you have seen them do it and you're collecting evidence for the police? Maybe they'll stop.
