January 29, 201016 yr Some people aren't able to handle the truth. I am done with this thread my point was made but Cousins will be back for 20/10 Saturday like you all want forget the fact he needs anger help. Instead of throwing a punch he should have swept the leg! This has been fun to read fella's thanks for the entertainment!
January 29, 201016 yr Jerry Tipton's Article: http://www.kentucky.com/232/story/1115947.htm Hopefully this ends the discussion, unless some people want to retract their statements about Cousins.
January 29, 201016 yr To me this is confusing. Cousins is 6'11". I'm assuming that the fan is likely considerably shorter than that, and was crouched down. How does one who is so tall throw an upper cut in that situation? How soon we forget the prowess of Bald Bull on Mike Tyson's Punch Out. He could get down low for a big man and deliver the uppercut to Little Mac like it was going out of style.

JA, I guess we are all confused as to what you believe "the truth" is? Essentially every single person agrees if Cousins assaulted this kid he should be suspended for ____ game(s). We know he is an 18 year old hothead. If you do not believe that, please look back through the pages. I am not one of these "guilty until proven guilty" guys either. We are in the court of public opinion. If there is enough smoke, we will gladly admit to the proverbial fire. The only smoke we have is a Big Foot video you can tell absolutely nothing from other than someone (not even sure who it is, btw) lunged forward whether it be by trip, provocation, or a chicken wire across the court; and the radio conversation that only the host and victim witnessed. Maybe it all is true? We have no earthly idea at this time. If nothing more substantial comes out than what already has, I am not sure how you can implicate based upon that. As the article said, perhaps Cousins' reputation as an emotional player with a short temper fueled ... interest in the incident. Nor do I feel anyone feels this is outside the realm of possibility for Cousins to react like this. But as I said, the truth is probably in between "Steven's" account of the story and nothing happening.

I think him being an Ohio State fan is the answer to that question.
January 29, 201016 yr  Funny. :thumb: Just make sure you (or others with such superior eyesite) are not shielded by lead or kryptonite. :ylsuper:
January 29, 201016 yr What did I say the whole time... that he did lunge and he did move his arm. Now we have a reporter who is saying he saw him throw "little blows, or he would call them punches'' I guess that is hard to process for the blue blocker crowd that something actually happened, regardless if the kid deserved it or not. Isn't the fact that his draft stock has suddenly plummeted punishment enough? His career will never recover.

First off I didn't say anything really until after I saw Scribes video. In the video he lunges, he is then restrained by a coach/UK person a black suit. We have a kid who shows up the next day saying he was hit, regardless if he enticed Demarcus or not. We then have a reporter who said he saw punches. You put 2 and 2 together and you can draw your own conclusion. Demarcus has anger issues. I have said numerous times he is a wonderful BBALL player he has special talent. He has a track record dating back to high school. None of this is new. The UK fans ignore it all because they worry about him being suspended and UK not getting to their next final 4. Someone laughed and made a remark because I am an OSU fan. Well I know guys who were in on Claretts recruiting he also had special talent and they knew the warning signs were there and wish they could have gone back to do something about it. Maybe it's because I coach kids I feel we shouldn't let them get away with things cause of their special talent and what they can do for us on the floor or field. If he can't learn to control his emotions it will eventually catch up to him and he won't be on the court here or in the NBA. So for all of the UK fans who are out to get me cause I am not afraid to call out an 18/19 year old kid with needs help with his emotions feel free.

January 30, 201016 yr The above link doesn't work, but here is Tipton's article. http://www.kentucky.com/kentuckysports/latest/story/1115947.html Sounds like all parties involved are on the same page - non issue. A Columbia, S.C., radio-and-television reporter expressed surprise on Thursday that he was still being asked about an incident he said he saw involving Kentucky freshman DeMarcus Cousins and a South Carolina fan charging onto the court after Tuesday night's game. -- "Maybe I'm a slack journalist on this," Shields said. "But I don't believe it's a punishable offense." -- But neither UK nor South Carolina determined that the incident merited further inquiry. "I was on the court post-game and never saw anything. The only thing I've heard is from the media asking me about it," UK spokesman DeWayne Peevy said in a text message Thursday. South Carolina spokesman Steve Fink described the incident and media questions as "much ado about nothing."

The player who was grabbed by a UK coach was actually Patrick Patterson (around midcourt), not Demarcus Cousins.
January 31, 201016 yr Guy called in to the local radio saying he was the one who was LaGarrette Blounted by Boogie. Told the story. " Blount punched another player not a fan who stormed the court and should have never been on the floor in the first place. Cousins is highly volatile and should have been removed from the arena, by the coaching staff, before the final buzzer sounded. All the storming of the court is nothing more than an opportunity for drunk college kids to act a fool. I am amazed that a student athlete hasn't been hurt in these stupid celebrations.
January 31, 201016 yr The player who was grabbed by a UK coach was actually Patrick Patterson (around midcourt), not Demarcus Cousins. It is all over now we can only hope he learns one game at a time to control his emotions. He is unstopable on the court. But if you watch Scribe's video per how I described it you will see the younger coach probably a GA grabbing him. If you are watching Coach Antigua grabbing PPat you never saw any of it.
