Done With Bengals/Need New Team

Featured Replies

I grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore. Followed the Colts and Orioles my entire life. Grew up idolizing Johnny Unitas, Brooks and Frank Robinson.

When the Colts moved to Indy, I "disowned" them as "my team". Even though I had been in Kentucky for a while, I felt that the famous "move under cover of darkness" was low. I never could get behind the Ravens; I had been out of the state for many years by then. The closest thing I have to an NFL team is the Bengals, but I admit that it is terribly frustrating to have them tantalize every few years only to regress and never be a consistently competitive team.

I guess you could say that I gave up on the Colts because of a leadership/front office move, but completely different than DD's reason(s).

Pat Dad I see you have a Yankees avatar. Have you heard the comedian who says that rooting for the Yankees is like going to a casino and rooting for the house?

Haven't heard that one. Sounds right though. :D

BTW, I am a Patriots fan as well. Go figure. (Yes, I am sticking with them even though they were handed their butts yesterday.)

Why would you stick with them for this long and be done with them now after losing a playoff game? What did you do after those two and one win seasons?

^ The Pats just got spanked today.

But they are consistently playoff bound, not sure of much more you can ask for in the NFL.

I used to like the Patriots - not as my #1 team, but I liked them. Until they found that jailbird to plow the area for the field goal years ago.

Drink? A lot. :D

Shame on you ! 10-6 made the playoffs. Have had two deaths that affect your team. Like it or not. Maualuga getting hurt didn't help the Defense. The Bengals are a relatively young team. Need to make a few changes and stay healthy and they can compete for the playoffs again next year.

As much as I dislike the (Queen City convicts) Bengals, I do respect the fans that have stuck by them and their losing ways...

Shame on you for even starting this thread... :idunno:

I don't understand how someone can just switch teams. I couldn't even if I wanted too. When/If the Bengals do start winning championships' date=' then you'll be back.[/quote']

The Bengals will never win another playoff team while Mike Brown is running the team, but feel free to call me if it happens.

I would go with the Colts if you're just worried about winning in the regular season.

Yeah, their 2006 Super Bowl win doesn't count for anything...:idunno:

Texans. Could be the next up and comer.

They have been for about three years now.

Yeah you are right. I mean even though they are good enough to be a playoff team, it would be impossible for them to win one. Its funny to hear people say some of the stuff they are saying considering they just came off of a playoff season. Yeah they didn't win their game in the playoffs, but at least they were there. There was many teams sitting at home during the playoffs, wishing that they would have at least got there like the Bengals did.

Such a shame they lit it slip from their grasps this year, and the year before, and the year before........
