February 11, 201016 yr I gave up on the Bengals 3 years ago after being a lifelong fan and season ticket holder for 15 years. Just wasn't enough good football or entertainment value for my money. I still like to see certain players do well, but the Brown family can take a hike.

They finally made the playoffs again in 2005 after such a long drought, and should have made it in 2006. And you decide to give up on them after that? I really don't get some of my fellow Bengal fans. There was so many other BAD YEARS that would have made sense if you said you gave up on them after that. However for some reason people wait till after a good year to give up on them? I mean they made the playoffs this year, and now the creator of this thread wants to give up on them. He didn't want to give up on them after going 4-11-1 and the year before. I just really don't understand this thinking.

I don't know how people can say that they haven't tried to put the best team possible out there? They really haven't made to many bad moves since then. They have had some bad luck with draft picks though, especially the whole 2005 class. That started off as A GREAT CLASS, and with injuries, alcohol, and the passing of the late Chris Henry. It just really never panned out as great as it could and did set this team back.
February 11, 201016 yr A friend of mine who used to work in the Channel 5 sports department heard that Mike Brown told his father shortly before he passed that the franchise could still make money and he didn't have to put a winning product on the field. That is all you have to know about the Brown family's desire and ability to please the fan base here in Cincinnati. I had and still have a tremendous respect for Paul Brown, but I have absolutely no respect for Mike Brown. I have not been a Bengals fan for 11 seasons and have never looked back.

February 12, 201016 yr I'll switch with you. You take the Chargers, who I've been a rabid fan of since 1979. They stuck the dagger deepest in me this year, though I've been punctured a lot. I'll take the Bengals for a season. Maybe we can change the other's fortunes.
