What does anyone think of having an allstate team for each of the 6 divisions? example: 1A, 2A etc. All coaches should be familiar with these teams and players in their own division.

 

Pretty good idea but if a kid doesn't get mentioned in one of these outlets then I'm not sure he needs to be listed:

Numerous other Local Area Awards

 

Most of these name around 90 players each.

The 3 Highlands players should've made it. Hunter Schlosser and Brandon Roller definitely should be 1st team All STATE:thumb::thumb::thumb:

These players definitely deserved some sort of mention on this team and if you truly watched these kids play in every game this year or talked to coaches who played against them you would probably agree.

 

Hunter Schlosser- OL- 1st team AP All State

Drake Bruns-CB- bonecrushing DB who covered the best receivers they faced.

Cam Dierig- DL -worked Matt James (Cincy St. X Div 1 offensive lineman who was almost a foot taller and 100lbs heavier)

 

Outside of these omissions I think the list is pretty good. Well, that is until they made Brandon Roller 2nd team. (belly laugh)

Good to see James Phillips atleast mentioned, A season filled with injuries keeps him from the 1st or 2nd team....I'm sure proud of him

I see what you mean, but, these sites are mostly regional and not by class which once again, you get players only from a certain area regardless of the division they play. I'm saying have a CJ allstate team voted on by coaches from their division for their division. That way there would be 6 allstate teams broken down by division and not try and choose a 1A player and a 6A player on the same team because most coaches do not know players outside the division they play.

I'm sure they are also. I just meant that every kid can't get on every list.

You are the epitome of what a high school football player should be. Your love of the game has made you a joy to watch over the last four years. You can be very proud to be included on the list. That isn't so easy for a kid on a class A team who didn't make it past regionals.

Nice to see McCreary star Aaron Watts make the 1st team.

A Highlands fan complaining about their players left off the All-State team. Say it isn't so.

 

Add a Cov. Cath. fan to the list of those complaining that Hunter Schlosser was left off the All-State team. He is pretty darn good. :thumb: Hard to fathom that he did not even secure an Honorable Mention.

Exactly skilld-kid. Seems like all state team is becoming more political and a who you know type thing. Seen a lot of good teams and kids this year not on the list. Teams and kids that went deep into the playoffs and even title games. I'm thinking if you got 1 or lets say 2 all staters on your team you may win more then 2-3 games a season. Happy for the ones who made the list. Taking nothing away from them. For those who didn't thats just more motivation and fuel to the fire.

All 2 of them on the honorable mention list? Let me change that...only 1 of the 2 was on the OL list. Just seems like you have something against TC. That's your right, I suppose.

 

Football is a team sport, more so than many others. One or two or three players don't make a team. You can have very talented individuals and a team that struggles, due to other reasons. We have several individual positions that I sure didn't get even a thought from any coach for all state...and rightly so.

 

If we want to go with records, then maybe only the state championship teams or those with one loss should be allowed to be on all state teams.
