Cincinnati 45 Pittsburgh 44

Featured Replies

I got back from the UK game just in time to see the final 3 minutes of this game. I heard UC was down 31 to 10 early in the game and came back to win. Pitt is a good team and it was at Pitt. So I don't know why some people would say that TCU would deserve to be over them more, just because of a close game. Every top team has close games, Florida and Bama have too. Does that mean TCU deserves it more than them? Its about finding a way to win the game, and UC did that. If Texas loses UC should be in the title game IMO.

Great game. Each team played good one half. Pitt is feeling sick letting a 21 point lead slip away.

In the paper last week, they were saying if UC won at Pitt, and the Huskers beat Texas, that UC would have enough in the BCS to leapFROG TCU into the #2 spot, if the SEC game doesn't go down the wire.

Interesting stat: Big East recruiting rankings

From 2005-2009, here's a look at Pitt and Cincy:

Pittsburgh: Averaged #2 in the Big East, 1 5-star, 23 4-star, 58 3-star

Cincinnati: Averaged #7 in the Big East, 0 5-star, 2 4-star, 19 3-star

Obviously Brian Kelly does more with less, but we already knew that.

Gilyard and Pike are fantastic. I kne Cincy would not lose this game, even down 21. Those guys care too much and are fantastic players.

What does that have to do with it? Do you think the game meant nothing to Pitt?

Im sure it did, and I was not saying it didn't. What I was saying is that those 2 guys, Pike and Gilyard, have been through a heck of a lot to get to where they are today. Gilyard more then anyone. That guy worked 3 jobs simultaneously while living in some dudes car AND STILL handed out sandwiches to other homeless people. There is no quit in that guy, and there was ZERO doubt in my mind he would let his team lose to the bumbling Wannstedt's.

Guess they proved you wrong by coming back, eh?

Congrat's to UC - what a game. I didn't think UC would win after watching the first half of the game. LRCW - what's up with your new avater?

I'm very happy for Gilyard, and also happy UC won a battle of a game today. Gilyard is from the school of hard knocks - he didn't grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. I wish him the best of luck in the future.

 My mistake, but you know exactly what I meant...

What a game reminded me of a Steeler football game then I saw 89 total points and realized it was a college game haha. It just shows special teams are a huge part of the football game. The holder has to be feeling awful right now if he holds onto the ball were in ot were I still think Cincy would of won they were clicking on all cylinders late. I thought Pitt stuck to their gameplan pound the ball Dion Lewis will be a heisman contender next year mark that down. Congrats gametime on your team's win I hope Kelly is there to coach it.

Just got in from the Burg and :dancingpa :dancingpa
