December 4, 200916 yr Espn reports. This would be bad news for UofL if they are after Sumlin. Many folks say Sumlin wants a Big 12 job.
December 4, 200916 yr Turner Gill's name would have definitely been on the list last year. It might still be there this year. But I would imagine Sumlin would be the first choice.
December 4, 200916 yr Maybe they found out more stuff upon investigation. If it is wins and losses, that's sad IMO. It's Kansas football, annual punching bag of the Big 12 before Mangino.

December 4, 200916 yr It seems as though Mark Mangino is to NCAA football, what Billy Clyde Gillispie was to NCAA basketball. Both men, obviously, have deeply seeded issues.
December 4, 200916 yr It can't be about W's and L's, Mangino brought that program out of the dust to a contender. I'm sure he'll land another job soon.

December 4, 200916 yr How soon though? He's going to leave KU with a very bad rep. I don't think it will be as bad as people think. He was there eight years and it is just now coming out? After the great season a few years ago, Kansas has just failed to continue the success and has been losing. If they would have been winning this season, I've venture to say this wouldn't come out. He'll have a job this coming season, I would think.
December 4, 200916 yr Sumlin is a natural fit to land a Big 12 job. He recruits Texas very well and has ties to the surrounding areas.
December 4, 200916 yr In related news, two Golden Corral's and a Ponderosa just filed for bankruptcy in Lawrence, Kansas.

You gotta figure he got his money's worth, and then some, with each visit! Those buffets probably whimpered like a scared puppy each time he walked in!
