Hes alright I'm sure there are plenty of good RB's that can do it in the state I never said there wasn't, however no one in the state has the physical tools that Miles has and thats why he can be found in the Rivals and Scout databases with numerous major d1 football offers while the small school boy is nowhere to be found even though he is a good HS RB...

 

That's because he has D-1 size. The whole point to Rees MacShara is the fact that he is doing the same things all these other boys are doing, putting up better stats than what these boys are putting up and he is smaller than them which, IMHO, makes his accomplishments even more impressive.

 

All of this banter back and forth is for nothing, though, everyone is going to stick to their local kid. I haven't seen Simpson play, but I vote Rees, you haven't seen Rees play so you vote Simpson.

Last I saw Rees, Andrew's and Hayden's teams are playing this weekend. Because of them. Maybe SK should have been more of the Miles Simpson show and maybe they'd still be playing since he's the greatest.

....either way it didn't really matter even if the O line collapsed Miles Simpson was mowing you over if you got near him!!!

 

If he was so unstoppable, why didn't he have 234 rushing TDs and 13 TD receptions, one for each time he touched the ball. He is stoppable (scored on 16% of his carries, and 15% of his catches - what happened to the other 84-85% of the time). He is a great athlete and hard to stop, but he is stoppable - the numbers show it (unless he willing went down on his own or rat out of bounds a whole heck of a lot.

Congrats to all who made the list but I have to question how this list is made. Nick West from Conner should be on the ballot as well. Ryan Wilson had a fine season but West was arguably the best Sr QB in NKY.

Are you serious. Versatility? I believe you have used the wrong word in what your are trying to say, and I know the word you were looking for but its not versatility. Look up Versatility in the dictionary and there is probably a picture of Austin Collinsworth. Soph yr 2 nd Team All State Defensive Back, Jr Yr 1st Team All State WR, Sr Yr, probally 1st Team All State RB. How can you say that is not versatile. I would like to see every other candidates last three yrs of accomplishments and I will assure you that not one of them has been the kind of impact player that AC has been for their respected program in helping them win football games. That is how Mr Football should be looked at, how a kid has represented his school, his community, his team, put his team and football program before himself. It should not be about a bunch of gaudy numbers against weak schedules and teams for one yr. I challenge anyone to argue what he has done for three yrs and show me somebody better deserving of Mr Football. :thumb:

 

Interesting post but I know for a fact that MS is always team first, and always giving credit to those in front of him. I never noticed before I was told but SK gives out individual stickers to display on their helmet. Many players had their whole helmet covered in gold footballs but not MS. He ended the season with 11 gold balls, one for each TEAM victory. That in itself tells me the individual stuff is not all that important.

With 18 on the ballot, I am surprised Collinsworth is not one of the 18. However, I have to say it doesn't upset me because I don't think he should win. He just missed too many games this year.

 

The fact that there are no Louisville players and no AC on the ballot pretty much seals the deal for Simpson IMO.

The last half of this post is comical its because of X simple answer...Match any of those teams you mentioned and they lose to X by 50 or more and are no longer playing this weekend...

I'm sure I'm not the only one on this sight that does so but I have kept my Insight just for the ability to watch Friday Night Flights on KYT. I actually prefer it over anything in the Cincy market since we are the stepchild in this area but sometimes they don't show it and I have to get upset because I don't want to purchase that beautiful emerarld ring on that shopping network show. I absolutely love watching Rees and Hayden's highlights, they are truly great players. I wish both of their squads the best this weekend and I'd be shocked to see either BC or LCA losing their games. Whoever wins the award deserves the award, it will be something they can boast about for the rest of their lives, quite the acheivement. Those who don't win the award shouldn't be upset, just to be in the running says enough. I'd take any of these players on my squad.
