Never heard of this Boyle County kid....but IMO, the award should go to the best football player in the state....and I doubt that he is.....Miles Simpson seems to be heads and shoulders above everyone regarding top dog in the state.

With 18 on the ballot, I am surprised Collinsworth is not one of the 18. However, I have to say it doesn't upset me because I don't think he should win. He just missed too many games this year.

 

The fact that there are no Louisville players and no AC on the ballot pretty much seals the deal for Simpson IMO.

Pound for pound Rees MacShara is the best player in the state.

IMO I don't agree with the fact that if Miles Simpson played on a small school with small school teammates he would have been less productive...The reason being Miles Simpson is a once in a decade RB with a great combination of speed, size and vision that I believe many of the top RB's in the entire country from powerhouse states such as CA, OH, Fl and TX would have a hard time matching his ability at the position... I have seen a great deal of Miles and he loves to attribute his success to the O Line but honestly he does probably more on his own than any RB on the high school level in a long time, I have seen him literally fake defenders out of there cleats and turn a 2 Yard gain into an 80 Yard TD many times, intact usually a couple times a game...Point is put him on a team with 1A players and a 1A O Line and it probably doesn't have to much of an impact on him because he's using his 6'2 200 lb frame to bulldoze the defender and his 4.5 speed to take it too the house and the defenders at the 1A level are traditionally only smaller and slower:ylsuper:

 

I guess you've never seen Rees MaShara play. He does this multiple times a game. His line does a pretty good job but once he gets to the second level its all him. Do a youtube search of him and you will see what Ii mean. He turns no gainers into 60+ yard td's every game.

I think Andrews is the only player capable of taking his whole region(West KY) and receiving enough votes throughout the rest of the state to win it. I think Hayden and Rees MacShara will split votes in Central KY and Andrews will be on those ballots as well. I think Andrews wins it.

Big, strong, fast, cuts on a dime or can run right over you and deliver punishing hits. I have seen him just run people over when he could have put a move on them. Factor in that if Lawerence was a senior (SK' QB) they could be co-Mr. Football. Lawerences numbers are every bit as good as Andrews. My point is SK was not just the Miles Simpson show like it is with many of the other candidates. I believe that if Simpson got the carries that Alexander did his senior year the record books would belong to Miles.

Couldn't have said it better myself...Good post and to the poster above SK had two really good O lineman one whom is D1 bound and one who was a solid anchor that got injured half way through the year, either way it didn't really matter even if the O line collapsed Miles Simpson was mowing you over if you got near him!!!
