If that were Cobb running he would've turned the corner and picked up a first down.:thumb:

Cobb is about a 4.5 and Newton is about a 4.8 in the speed department.

Cobb would have put the cats ahead for the Win...He wanted this win has bad as any of us Fans...:thumb:

I don't disagree that Cobb or Locke shouldn[t have got the ball. But at the same time I have to think Joker thought UT wouldn't expect Newton on the draw. Had Locke blcoked it would have been a first down.

I don't know why UT wouldn't expect it, its what he has called all year in clutch situations. USC, Miss St, and now tonight. Game is on the line Cobb is a non factor.

Cobb probably makes it whether Locke makes the block or not. He's faster than Newton and its not like Newton was making them respect the pass in the 2nd half.

Cobb makes it.............and possibly scores. That's the difference in putting the game in Cobb's hands or Newton's. History tells me that Cobb finds a way to the endzone and that UK takes the lead.

History also tells us that when the game is in the balance Cobb doesn't get that opprotunity.

Not a UK fan I am Florida fan but at the end of a game your best players are the ones trying to make the plays. Agree with other posts against South Carolina, Mississippi State, and now Tennessee your two best play makers do not have the ball at the end of the game.

The game was lost due to UK's defense, they nearly gave up 450 yards...

Something to be said for out thinking yourself. One of my favorite stories was the OC at my high school calling a QB draw on a 3rd and 15 of the regional championship "because they wouldn't expect it." That's because they're not insane. That gain of 4 running a QB draw we got suuure helped us a lot.

We REALLY should be like at least 9-3 NO EXCEPTIONS! I almost think Joker was trying to make the game go a certain way...I know him personally and really nice guy...I REALLY WANT TO PUNCH SOMETHING!

Choker Phillips played to tie not to win. When you havent beaten a rival in 24 years you need to play to win.

Take a chance, Columbus did.

A quote from a famous coach "You Play to win the game" and we did not.

Lets start the blame game, typical UK fans after a loss. The players had a major part in that second half meltdown, a MAJOR part. I'm sick to my stomach after this loss, but there is plenty of things that cost UK the game, to start blaming the loss on Joker is a joke.

This is the only reason I hate being a UK fan. To blame Joker is a waste of time. To blame any football loss on one person means you know little about football.

I agree. UK got dominated in the 2nd half and needed luck to even have a chance but it's Joker's fault they lost. Sure, everyone knows that Cobb was the better choice at the goal line, but the coaches had their reasons to go another way and did so. Was anyone on this board in the huddle at the end of the game? Maybe Cobb said he needed a break? Maybe the coaches just felt that he needed a break? Maybe they saw something in the box.

Complaining about this? I was as mad as anyone at the end, but without Brooks, Joker, etc. UK is not in this game. UK isn't even relevant if not for them. UK has been in every game this season except for UF and Bama, and Bama didn't even humiliate them. This UK team is a terrible offensive football team, IMO. The QB's are not ready, the WR outside of Cobb are not ready though I think LaRod is going to be a big-time WR here. Connor is an elite FB IMO, but he's just a Fullback! Locke seems great to us, but he is an average back in the SEC, and the backs behind him aren't even that IMO. UK had a chance to win the game and didn't make the plays. How about the defense giving up the huge plays in overtime? How about the offense doing nothing in overtime?

I just don't see this sense of entitlement. UK had a chance to win, and just about everyone in blue and white should and probably does take the blame for not pulling it out.

Newton will be the man next season. I like the gact Joker isn't afraid to let the kid try and make plays. It will pay off in the long run.

:thumb: I was mad about it, but if the coaches see something in him I think we have to trust them. I think this is short of a building season, UK had a chance to win 9 games (or more) but they do not have that kind of talent to have that many wins in the SEC. To even have a chance, I think a lot of praise has to go to the coaches and the players. A few weeks ago many didn't even think they'd go to a bowl game.

:thumb: Another level headed person.

That seems like it would be the case, but in reality, they only gave up 20 points in regulation - that's not a terrible number.

When the game was on the line, they produced 3 opportunities in the 4th quarter to get the win. I agree that 450 yards is too many, but points are what matters.

I don't totally disagree, but I don't think people are blaming the loss on Joker. They are blaming him for not giving UK the best opportunity to win when it counted the most. :idunno: Obviously it is a total team effort in a win or a loss. Just saying. Also it is not the 1st time it's happened. There is a ton of reasons UK lost the game, there is just some that cannot be justified on the personnel that was used.

I started a thread a few weeks ago titled "The Use of Cobb in the Red Zone." You would think the coaches would learn after the missed 2pt conversions agaisnt SC and all of the two Morgan Newton runs and int agaisnt MSU. Cobb got the call on a crucial 3rd and goal agaisnt Auburn and he scored. Come on coaches give me a break! Brooks was so concerned about the time left. We had plenty of time. If Cobb is tired then call a time out and let him rest. We still had over a minute left. Cobb needs to do what Jimmy did in Hoosiers when the coach tries to call a different players number and simply say "I'll make it."
