The last time I got into this discussion about the blame on Brooks and Phillips one game I got a warning from a mod because I went to far. So I'll bow out and allow you guys to your blame game. My parting words: UK fell apart in the second half, Newton missed several open guys, Cobb started dropping the ball and the D struggled to make stops. I don't see how any one person gets the blame, the team lost this game.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying to blame it all on Joker is crazy.

 

Certainly the players have to make the plays. There's no denying that. But it's the coaches responsibility to call the plays that will give them the best chance of success and have the players in for those plays. The sweep was a fine play call, but the personnel was wrong. Could we have reasonably expected that Newton could make that play? I say no, but many would say yes. But that was more of a Cobb playcall. The option in OT to the near hash had disaster written all over it, and the loss of 7 was the death knell.

No matter what UK had done up to that point they had a chance to win the game.......................................and he runs a TRUE FRESHMAN with little speed...........

I agree with the exception that I believe the defense's inability to make stops was caused by the offense's inability to stay on the field.

Newton has the legs to make plays. I am not sure if it was such a bad call. Just poor excution of the play.

Newton didn't play well the entire game, and the staff put it in his hands at the end. That's on the staff.

I really don't think he does, at least not running East/West. Maybe North/South he can do it. But he's got a lot of weight to start moving in the other directions.

I don't mind the play call but I can't understand Newton running the ball instead of Cobb. Also, why is Lock blocking instead of Allen. I realize Conner was hurt.
