Newton will be the man next season. I like the gact Joker isn't afraid to let the kid try and make plays. It will pay off in the long run.

Tough loss for the Cats. It almost makes me sick. I think Joker is a fine person and really do like him, but I sure hope Barnhart realizes he is not SEC head coach material. Go out and pay for a top notch coach and recruiter when Papaw retires.

Then tell me what the heck he has right now that does them any good? He's atrocious throwing. He's not been all that great running.

Newton: 62/112 - 55.4% - 5.4ypa

Fidler: 20/41 - 48.8% - 4.5ypa

Hartline: 79/133 - 59.4% - 6.03ypa

You want Cobb full time?

I don't mind the play call but I can't understand Newton running the ball instead of Cobb. Also, why is Lock blocking instead of Allen. I realize Conner was hurt.

If Locke makes that block, Newton probably makes the first down. I'm not sur e who the better blocker is, but he should ave been in on that play.

Locke is 190 lbs. Allen is 225 lbs. Who do you think would have been the better blocking option? Rhetorical question by the way.

Was that a designed run?

Yes, it was.

I seen Locke run over LB's I am sure he can block one. I fnot he shouldn't be playing in the SEC

That's just about what they do anyway.

I've said before that he's the best QB they have in every sense of the position. His only crime is he can't throw it to himself.

If that were Cobb running he would've turned the corner and picked up a first down.:thumb:

Cobb is about a 4.5 and Newton is about a 4.8 in the speed department.

If UK's basketball team needs a basket at the end of a game to win or tie who gets the ball? It sure isn't Perry Stevenson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cobb probably makes it whether Locke makes the block or not. He's faster than Newton and its not like Newton was making them respect the pass in the 2nd half.

I like the mix they run with Cobb, except for some reason they're not playing him when it matters.

FWIW Cobb last year:

52/99 - 52.5% - 5.5ypa

I don't disagree that Cobb or Locke shouldn[t have got the ball. But at the same time I have to think Joker thought UT wouldn't expect Newton on the draw. Had Locke blcoked it would have been a first down.
