Lawrence and Krumen. It was 41-34 and SK recovered the onside kick. SK made one first down and went deep twice in a row from St X's 35. The first one Daylen Hall dropped, the second one Nick Sears, just back in the lineup thisweek, picked off his 2nd pass of 3 tonight.

 

One missing element was I didn't recall hearing Buehner run the ball that much or or even pass that much until the PI call.

BTW Greenwood up 21-3 in the fourth quarter. Bowling Green is nice this time of year.

I was sitting in the last section of the home side stands near the scoreboard right on the goal line, very close to that PI call and it looked like a bad call. It still would have been 4th and goal from the 4, and X could have went for it and scored, or a Wyatt Gray FG would have been automatic.

 

I left just after that X TD to go up 41-27.

 

Was all ready to Blast X for that last TD, but just saw it on WLKY as I was posting, Montano just broke a play that looked designed to run out the clock.

 

Simon Kenton played well after the first quarter. They held St. X to just 5 plays and less than 20 yards in the 3rd quarter. And their last 2 TD's came after Simpson left with an injury.

 

Simpson is the real deal, like the NFL guys say, he is a big back that gets stronger as the game goes on and while me might get held in check in the first half of the last 2 games, he gets it going in the second half and was getting lots of 8-15 yard runs against X before the injury. He's a "factor back".

Keep your heads up SK, you gave it everything you had. Congratulations on your season. Looking forward to another X and T classic.

Can anyone give some more details on this game? What all happened in the first quarter? From the sounds of it SK dominated the rest of the game after that first quarter. So what happened in the first quarter, and how did Simpson get hurt? Also in some of your all's honest opinion do you think SK might end up winning this game if he doesn't get hurt? Sure could have helped to have him after recovering the onside kick.

So RockPride and others did SK earn your respect tonight? I know they didn't win, however it was definitely a lot more closer game than it seemed like you all thought it would be. Also I think it seemed like most people thought SK fans were crazy for thinking the could score 30 something or more on St.X. I think SK showed that they were for real tonight, and if they had happened to play again, that SK very well could have won it because they are a great team this year just like the St. X's and Trinitys at least for this season.

I think a lot of St. X fans will agree, with the exception being the Cincy St. X game they lost, SK is the best team they are going to play or have played this year! And RockPride needs to eat some crow!

Driving with under 2 minutes to go in the game to tie the score...I'd say they represented quite nicely!!!!

Haven't even read the thread, and not going to tonight because I've never been more disgusted by a call in my life. SK played there hearts out and got robbed. Congrats to X but you should be thankful, maybe I'm a sore loser but I was ticked with 304 minutes left in the game and it was still a 1 TD game. Standing next to four 3 fans and they said they felt like SK had been robbed, I'd have to say I agree.

I tried to jot down as many things as possible during the game, and this in an unofficial total but here's what I have for first downs.

So you can see how explosive X was on offense. I believe they were leading 34-7 and at that point had only 3 first downs.

 

Kudos to coach M, his staff and all the players who gave everything all season long. The 19 Srs will be missed but you've made your mark, the greatest two season run ever. Good luck to X, you have an outstanding team. You weren't kidding about their speed, very fast and their backfield is unreal, very hard to key on any one player.
