Haven't even read the thread, and not going to tonight because I've never been more disgusted by a call in my life. SK played there hearts out and got robbed. Congrats to X but you should be thankful, maybe I'm a sore loser but I was ticked with 304 minutes left in the game and it was still a 1 TD game. Standing next to four 3 fans and they said they felt like SK had been robbed, I'd have to say I agree.

 

Honestly, I can't really comment on the call because I was so far away from the play. All I know is I saw the SK player with inside position while batting the ball down. Sure holding them to three there would have been great but the game still wasn't over. I have one question, if SK would have scored after the onside recovery, would they have gone for the tie or the win?

I wouldn't say that SK got robbed. If that call wasn't made

X wold have had 4th and goal on the 4 or 5 yardline. I think

they would have kicked in that situation and Gray is a really good kicker

while SK did tip one PAT kick and cuase it to miss left, X seemed to correct

that and made the rest of their extra points, so logically you could say they would have made the kick and still made it a 2 possession game. Even if St X goes for it it was still likely they score, they had a lot of plays go longer than 4 yards.

You could also blame it on other things like going for it on 4th and 1 on your own 19, giving X great field position already down 14-7, or on Simpson getting hurt, the kickoff that went to the 1 and died, Simpson picked it up but was tackled inside the 10.

Lots of things hurt SK, that one bad call by the refs didn't decide the game

You mentioned some excellent points Pete. How about the kick that just died? X's kicker is one of the best I've ever seen on the HS level, his return team might letter but they sure don't get much action. The 4th and one was also a huge, X leading 14-7 and they stuff Lawrence on the keeper, 24 seconds later it's 20-7. I do have to say I'm very proud of the Neers, today's article about them not being a one trick pony, and they made that evident tonight. Chad Lawrence did throw four interceptions but that kid is one heck of a player. I hate to see those 19 Srs leaving but the program is in good hands. I'm sure many doubted what they could do without Miles on the field, and they really put up a fight against a very good squad.

Jeff would of went for the win. No question in my mind there.

Since this season is over I'm intrigued about 2010. SK loses some very good guys up front but Lawrence returns with some very good Wrs also coming back. I think the key to the offseason starts up front, and I hope Sage Powell gets in the weight room, he's got to get stronger.

The SK boys playing on offense and defense both was a non-factor. I actually thought X was doing more bending over etc. and looked more fatigued, maybe it was just me and the X guys I was standing by. I thought going into the game that it the game would be close but that X would probably pull away in the second half because of this. Quite the opposite. I wish Miles could have been in there on that last drive to have mixed things up a little more.

That was very impressive, especially after Miles went down. Very solid performance. I bet the crowd was fun as well. Great SK, nice improvement.....now keep bringing it!!!

So RockPride and others did SK earn your respect tonight? I know they didn't win, however it was definitely a lot more closer game than it seemed like you all thought it would be. Also I think it seemed like most people thought SK fans were crazy for thinking the could score 30 something or more on St.X. I think SK showed that they were for real tonight, and if they had happened to play again, that SK very well could have won it because they are a great team this year just like the St. X's and Trinitys at least for this season.

 

They certainly earned mine. I predicted a multiple TD X win &, while technically correct, I certainly had more than 2 in mind. Congrats on a fine two year run & keep doing what you're doing, it's definitely working!:thumb:

Lawrence and Krumen. It was 41-34 and SK recovered the onside kick. SK made one first down and went deep twice in a row from St X's 35. The first one Daylen Hall dropped, the second one Nick Sears, just back in the lineup thisweek, picked off his 2nd pass of 3 tonight.

 

One missing element was I didn't recall hearing Buehner run the ball that much or or even pass that much until the PI call.

BTW Greenwood up 21-3 in the fourth quarter. Bowling Green is nice this time of year.

Their backs are fast but what causes them to have such long runs is the terrific down field blocking. There is always a man blocking the corner and safety to play side and doing it very well.

I totally disagree it is natural to relax after you come out fired up and within a few minutes you are up 34-6 I think the kids thought it was over at that point and I did too.The St.X offense was as vanilla as it could get but they did not have to get fancy. Road trip!
