October 18, 200916 yr Newton gets the start. Played okay but in the second half offense was just not moving. In comes Fidler and able to complete some passes. Brooks may have wasted Newton. I hope he plays this kid in every game here on out to gain experience. If Newton doesn't get at least 20 snaps a game the rest of the season Rich Brooks should be fired for wasting this kids red-shirt season.
October 18, 200916 yr Auburn laid an egg!!!!!! UK got a lot of breaks from the officials (it's about time). Big time win. Go Big Blue! That right tackle (75) was moving every play. I think the refs gave Auburn a break with as few penalties as they called.
October 18, 200916 yr No Flags or Turnovers was the Big difference in this game. That and a very gritty D and an amazing performance from the offensive line! Not to mention, Mr. Cobb played ok (). Great ROAD SEC win!

Nearly locks: UL-M EKU Should be favored: Vanderbilt Mississippi State Should be a close one either way: Tennessee Georgia 4-2 would be nice, considering that would put us at 7 wins, the same as our time with our prolific offense with Woodson and crew.
October 18, 200916 yr I think this could be the biggest win of Brooks career at UK. I would say that we are better without Hartline, I've always thought we should give Newton a try and although he didn't finish this game I believe we saw his ability. Hold on there...what about LSU. Auburn is good but they're not an elite team. I dont want that bandwagon to tip over. Congrats to UK!
October 18, 200916 yr A shame that UK couldn't have pulled out that win last week against South Carolina. They'd be a virtual lock for bowl eligibility now.

We needed him in there and he played about as well as you could expect. He will see some time in the next 3 - 4 games and get experience. If Fidler moves the team better and Newton doesn't start anymore this year, still not wasted IMO. Great coaching job this week.
