The gang tackling and re-tackling and staying with the tackle was a thing of beauty tonight.

So I'm at a USF party in Tallahassee, raising the roof in Seminole land, (great party, too, BTW) and I get this text message, from a birdy, that stops me in my tracks. Stopped some GCL folks I met tonight, too.

They are the best in KY and I hate to be the Debbie Downer, but until they play and beat Elder let's keep greater Cincinnati out of it.

Great job of wrapping up the ball carrier tonight birds.

I have never seen so much encouragement pour in from all around the state regarding a victory by one of our own vs an out of state big boy. This win will undoubtledly be talked about for years to come. Interestingly, last week it was Ashland, a likely opponent for Highlands down the road.

Cameron Dierig (#53) was going up against the biggest high school lineman (#78) I've ever seen. He looked like he was 50% taller than Cameron. Yet, Dierig contained him. :thumb:

 

He's been tough all year.

What was really impressive was that Xavier had only 1 play in Highlands territory in the 1st half of the game! They were immediately pushed back into their own end on the ensuing play!

My statement was that I would be rooting for Kentucky, but people were going to see the difference between the best in NKY and the best in Cincinnati. I was coorect, people did get to see that, it's just not that big a difference. :idunno:

I'll stick by my comment that overall Cincinnati and OH football is bigger, faster, and just on another level. And I don't feel KY is on that level as a whole. But Highlands has proven they are that caliber and could go and play with the big boys this year, and it's kind of scary for every other KY team...

Wow... just finished watching it. X did not show up... Highlands came out with a boat load of confidence and controlled the entire game...... I did think X was going to win but I could not pick St X in the poll, didn't pick either team.

 

Hope Bardo is ok... that could be a big problem if he's note. He was the difference in the game!
