Do 32% of you honesty think HHS will beat Cincinnati St. X Friday, or are you picking HHS because you are a HHS fan?

 

If you 32% had to stake all of your football knowledge/reputation on this game, and this game only, would you still pick Highlands to win?

 

To me at least, there is a huge difference between hoping, praying, loving to see, and indeed they will win and I stake my reputation/knowledge of football on it!

I already said I was a "homer" in my original post. Not ashamed to admit it. My knowledge/reputation speaks for itself. LOL. Wasn't very good before and won't be very good after this game either. I can go back and check almost everybody's past post and probably find that they at one time or another made a "homer" pick whether football, baseball, soccer, or whatever it was. Does it really matter.

 

I guess the real question that should be asked is how many people hope HHS doesn't win because of the they way the faithful will act and brag and so on. I bet you that is what most people are afraid of. Wow, I can see it now. It would be a BGP post record breaker for sure. Can't wait!:banana:

lol, I just saw the post where someone actually said that that if Highlands were asked to play the Bears today they would and they'd known the Bears were in for a butt whoopin. There is something to be said for such extreme enthusiasm lol.

 

I'm with whoever said that Highlands and Louisville St. X and Trinity should all try and schedule each other, (I don't know if they already have, or what), because I think those would be better games and show who the best teams in state are as opposed to how close we can come to being as good as Ohio.

I can't wait to see your 6'4 250 (5.4 40 guys) come after Bardo in the shotgun. The difference in this game unlike the others played by Highlands this year is that Bardo isn't going to just run outside the pocket and wait for Buten or Drennan to run down field for a bomb. He's going to the outside in

5th gear with a "catch me you can mentality". This will be the determing factor in the Birds success against the Bombers defense. I'm not sure who will ultimately win the game, but if you have think that you're facing a Louisville St. X or Louisville Trinity type of offense you're going to be in for a shock.

 

Are you serious??? First, he was talking about their O-Line, and secondly, St. X has already seen a better runner at QB than Bardo when they played Cathedral in Week 2. Bardo will probably be the most complete QB that they have seen so far. However, if you think that Highlands is going to "out-athelete," St. X, you are the one in for a shock. It's all well and good to be a homer, just be realistic about it.

I would rather see Highlands win for just that fact. Highlands fans are going to hype their program win or lose, rain or shine. Many are realistic and knowledgeable, but the vocal minority are obnoxious. At least if they win, I won't have to hear from the St. X fans here at work (who are every bit as obnoxious) as well.

I am good friends with the father of one of X's DB's - Nick Weston. 6'1", 185, very strong, and very fast. And the other DB is every bit as good. Add in the type of pass rush X will be able to throw at HHS' line, and the Birds are going to find it very hard to throw on them.

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but the latest rankings on rivals.com has these two teams ranked 24 and 25. Which rankings has everyone been looking at that has St. X at 1? I'm not sure how much stock people put in rivals rankings anyways, just thought it was interesting that they were ranked so close.

Nick's dad tells me they have a LB named Stephen Daniels who is a freak. 6'1", 240 lbs, and runs a 4.4 (which, of course, everyone always embellishes a little, but still . . :sssh:). Already has offers from WVU and Indiana, I beleive. Said this kid will absolutely knock your head off.

I think there are several people on here who seem to believe that Highlands will certainly have difficulty stopping X when X has the ball.

 

My question would be, when Highlands has the ball, is their offensive line good enough with enough size to open holes for Collinsworth and allow their QB time to throw the ball. I know they do have the one kid going to Miami; however, traditionally Highlands is very small on the offensive line, which serves them well against KY teams, but not so well against GCL teams.

I didn’t realize that having 6'2 corners who can run was such an anomaly. After being apprised of this I'm sure Bardo will line up behind center and run dive plays all night.
