During the preseason I didn't hear anything at all about Cincy X . What happened besides beating two Ky. teams?

 

HBF, that's probably because X struggled last year and some folks erroneously thought they'd struggle this year. Those folks failed to comprehend that Massa missed almost the entire season last year. I believe he got hurt early in their first game and missed the rest of the season. If my memory serves me, their second team qb also got hurt and missed a lot of the season. As most folks know, the loss of a very, very good qb makes a big difference in a football team. When you lose the second team qb, it really hurts the O. Plus, there were numerous other players that got hurt. Their stud O linemen (James) missed a lot of the season with injuries and I believe other O linemen were hurt throughout the season. They also had injuries on the D side, just not as severe. If X had stayed healthy last year, they would have been a lot better than the 4-6 record they posted. Specht is a great coach and I can guarantee you that all off season he was telling his kids in the weight room and on the conditioning fields that they needed to work hard to regain the respect of their opponents. They are healthy this year and playing great. Hence the well earned national accolades they are receiving.

X will bring plenty of D1 players including one of the top o-lineman in the country in the James kid you mentioned. I think most if not all of the top schools in the country have offered him a scholarship. In addition, the JR LB that Coop mentioned earlier plus Massa who is going to UC. I'm sure there are more.

 

Since 05 X has put about a dozen players into BCS schools and probably 12 to 20 more into 1-AA and Ivy League schools.

The Highlands Bluebirds are not playing this game to fill an empty slot on the schedule. They're on the road for the ultimate national rankings. Highlands has possibly the best team in the state of Ohio coming to their own backyard. With their explosive Offence' date=' scrapy DEF. and great Specialty teams. A couple of turnovers, a couple breaks, And ''David slays the Giant'". I understand that the game is on TV. [b']They should just go on and make it a movie. [/b] They could call it "The Hoosiers II" (even though its in KY) Good Luck both teams!!

I assume you mean if the Birds blow these guys out are the JV kids going to get in. Surely you don't think these JV kids are talking about getting in the game based on a blowout by St. X.

With due respect to St. X, beating a great Highlands team in Ft. Thomas is no small feat. The Bombers may win but I would be very surprised if the Birds were blown out. Look for a very respectable showing by the Birds...maybe even a W.

Clyde is insinuating that the game will be a blowout and the Highlands JV players will get into the game because in essence it will be over sometime prior to the final buzzer going off.

As of today, Cincy Saint X is ranked first nationally according to Massey Ratings, for what it's worth.

 

I know it's fun for some fans but I think these national rankings are a joke. With all due respect for HHS, IMO there is no way they are top 25 in the country when you start to think of the schools in Florida, Ohio, Texas, California etc... and I don't believe Cincy St X would be top 10 either. There was a post earlier this year comparing the size of Texas schools versus KY schools and it was unreal.

Maybe you should start a poll just for HHS J V players,and ask them if they wish their team was blown out just so they could get in the game.Are you for real?? :ohbrother:
