Come on Raceland is 1-3 not 3-7 that is a myth. The Rams will not fall apart, it just takes time getting the younger starters on the team up to speed. My thinking is I feel sorry for the teams they play next. This team will rally behind there coachs and come out fighting, in that they will make a late season run.

And I believe a school called Ironton has a play book that only has 5 or 6 plays that have been effective for 30+ years as well.

Great win Greenup County,you boys played your hearts out,but seriously. I think Greenup is a much better team than they played like tonight.I seen the game at 27 to 13 but they had to many stupid mistakes,and you can't run the same 5 plays for the entire game either.But I have faith that our boys will get it together real soon and maybe learn some more plays too. BEST OF LUCK ON THE REST OF THE SEASON.I also wish the Rams the best of luck too,and keep your head up ,this week is behind you now.Work hard for next week.

 

You have to know how this offense works, thats part of it pound, pound, pound and then break one i.e. fullback Hensley in the first half and Carter in the second. The more you run it the more break one's, but you still have to have the pound, pound, pound.

 

We need to keep coming, keep cheering, keep supporting and keep backing this coaching staff and team.

Congrats to Greenup. Knew you had the heart and attitude to start winning. Stop the turnovers and penalties and you will be fine, even with that tough remaining schedule.

IMO The RAM off. line and def. line are doing a good job. But on off. the rec. and QB's are not hooking up. Lack of exp. I'm sure. We have dropped some really big passes. And the QB's have trouble finding the 2nd and 3rd open recs. But their is hope. With experience ie.. playing time, they will get alot better. The def. has had so much pressure put on them all year. And for the most part. They have done a great job. I think the offense has given up more points the the defense.

The offense and defensive backs really need to work hard to catch up with the rest of the team. And they will if they want. They are well coached. It has to be really hard on the coaching staff to see some of the silly mistakes this TEAM is making. IMO we have the best coaching staff in eastern ky. And if the players will do what the coaches teach and play hard we will be just fine. It's all about ATTITUDE. And when I say play hard. I mean PRACTICE hard and do what you are told for the eight to ten hours getting ready for each game. Then put it all on the line on FRIDAY NIGHT. I feel better now.

It looks like Greenup brought their lunch pails and took care of business.

The bad snap over the punter's head set GC up on the 1 yard line for their 1st td. Little mistakes like that need to be fixed.

I said in the other thread that the team with the fewest mistakes would win this game. I was wrong. GC had penaltys over and over including in the red zone on two different trips. GC should have been up two touchdowns most of this game. I will be real honest, I cant believe we pulled this out, fumbled snaps killed a few drives also. I guess the credit has to go to the boys from GC, they fought all night and to win this game dispite all the mistakes truely shows how much heart this team has. Coach Champlin called a great game on D last night, Halfway through the second quarter Raceland had only ran 6 plays. I am so proud of this team and how hard they have worked to get to this point. GC is learning how to win, its that simple, we never win games like this. In the past we always found a way to lose them. I have said it since the hire of Copley, "things are changing"! The GC fans were awesome last night also, I was in the booth on the other side or the field with my headphones on and could still hear them the whole 4th qtr. Raceland has to come together, it looks like the chemistry is just not there. I have a feeling they will come on around district time. Sorry to ramble on, but I am so proud of this team, coaches, fans and the GC community that I cant quit talking about it.

Coup, don't apologize for being pumped and excited about your team. Kids do read these post and they love it whe people tell them they are playing well. You should be proud of them. GC made the plays and deserved the win, Raceland didn't.

Thanks, I hate that my joy had to come from you getting disappointed on your B-day, but my wife got a nice b-day gift. She hugged Coach Copley and told him it was the best 30th birthday present she could ask for.

I never doubted the heart and the desire of this team. Now with Carter in the backfield with Waugh and Lyle and our awesome fullback, we have 4 excellent backs, Carter and Waugh with the speed and Lyle with the power downhill running to get those tough yards between the tackles. The Defense showed some heart as well. Carter has definitely put GCHS as a district contender... He is an awesome athlete and will only make those around him better.

 

I am very proud of our coaching staff last night Coach Copley and Tex did one hell of a job making adjustments.

 

I am rooting for Raceland the rest of the year now that we got that one over with, Raceland has some talent, great backs and Rister is a good QB, made some excellent throws that put our backs against the wall.

 

I am very proud of all our boys, they played thier guts out.

Congrats to Greenup on this win. They believed they could win and they did!

As for Raceland I really don't even know where to start. It's gong to be a long season if they don't get on track!
