Well, I didn't take it as an insult, however, in my lifetime, Raceland has never been where Greenup has been. Rams are rebuilding, and have the support of the community. Always have. And I'm glad for the Greenup folk that it appears that the same is on the horizon for them. Glad to see you guys out of the cellar so to speak. Things look bright for the Greenup faithful and for that I'm glad. Just thought it was kinda funny to compare the two schools as reversing roles. Nothing could be farther from the truth. GC won a football game, and that's about it.

As far as expectations go. I did not have that high of expectations at all. But then you started hearing how great these transfers were and such. And I really thought if they could "mesh" together and fit into the Raceland system it might be a pretty good year. No further comment needed for how that has turned out for us.

 

I was blown away this week at the game. And it had nothing to do with the game itself. I actually saw an injured upperclassmen player walk off the sidelines and go to the fence in front of the concession stand. Where he turned his back, and conversated with fans and people along the fence. Not even caring what was going on in this ballgame. Keep in mind this wasn't a blowout game on either side. I don't know if things have changed that much since I played or what. :idunno:

I agree. I am in no way dismissing last year's talent. We had an awesome team. I am in no way comparing this year's group to that because it is wrong to do. We have a lot of talent on the field and they are not executing and that is frustrating. The players need to make an identity for themselves and become leaders and bone up if the season is going to be corrected. All the coaching and preperation in the world will not cause a player to "want to".

 

 

Althought I watched Raceland/Fleming and not Raceland/Greenup, I came away with this impression. Not sure if the Rams are a smashmouth team, a finesse team, etc. Probably the fact that a few key players were missing contributed to this.

Classic is right you try and be nice and all you get is sarcassim. Yes Greenup did win the game and we are very proud of our boys for doing just that WINNING.

I for one congratulate Greenup County, again, and wish them success in the remainder of their season. They won, they deserved to win, and they should celebrate winning.

 

Good luck also to Raceland, no matter how many games they win, or who they win against. Keep playing, keep trying, and keep improving.

Yes Rister did have a TD pass one the scoreboard end of the field.

Something that hasnt been mentioned about this game was the GC punting. Crum punted the ball very well Friday, if he can do that week in and week out, it will help GC big time this year...Great Job Cam!

I agree with you Coupon21 also the special teams did not give up any pts. Also he had a great block on 77 Compton, when Carter made his cut off his butt, he was gone. I saw improvement all over the place, and we are getting better each week, now is when we need to start getting physical, lay those ears back, and work even harder, this team is in great shape, Copleys conditioning is really paying off.:dancingpa

Thank you Musketeer alum97, I to went to the Ram sideline to see if the Doc was in, but ended talking to Larry Colegrove, the principal at Raceland. He should be made to wear a Greenup County shirt till Friday and show some love. that I mean in as sideline doc, should wear the shirt:D:D

The principal is Larry Coldiron. And guys, I was there. What amazes me is that you guys want to rag on me about GC winning........come on. I love to see Greenup win and do well but don't rag on me. I even had messages on my office answering machine saying, "Doc, can you tell me the score of the game?! Ha Ha Ha.!!!!!!!" Now since I have never ragged on GC and have always shown respect, I think this is going too far. Yes, you guys are hitting a nerve and I really don't know why it is that big a deal. I guess more people in Greenup look up to me than I thought.

BTW, I own a GC football polo shirt. But the way I am being picked at, it will not be worn in a long time.
