The Kent Family Chronicles is the Jakes series that most interests me. I'd like to read those and the North and South at some point. I'm on a bit of a book-buying hiatus at the moment, until I read the ones I have right now.

 

I just started The 900 Days: The Siege of Leningrad by Harrison E. Salisbury. Still off on WWII for the foreseeable future...

I've been plowing through a double volume of Nero Wolfe. Hearsay loves Nero Wolfe so, respecting Hearsay as I do, I thought I'd give the old chap a try. UGH....I can't wait to finish! I'm near the end of "The League of Frightened Men". The first was "Fleur de Lis".

I am reading The Mental Game of Baseball by H.A. Dorfman and Karl Kuehl....

Last night I finished David Baldacci's, "Absolute Power". I really enjoyed it and plan on reading more of his stuff in the future. They just don't have many options of his at the school library.

 

I am about to start John Grisham's, "Rainmaker".

 

I just finished Davis Baldacci's, 'True Blue' which is the first time I've read anything by him but it won't be my last. His next novel(Hell's Corner) is due out this November.

Game 6

I'm currently re-reading, 'A Salty Piece of Land' by Jimmy Buffett.

I just finished "The Journey of Crazy Horse" by Joseph M. Marshall. I "read" it as an audiobook and can only say that it was a phenomenal experience. The author reads the book. He is a Lakota Sioux, as was Crazy Horse. This makes the 2nd book of his that I have read and will certainly go for a third.

"The Quants" which is about Wall St using math whizzes to study historical trends and to use science and math to predict pricing.

 

Doesn't sound exciting but it's actually a good read - not overly geeky. Just somewhat geeky.

Good read, with some good stories about former Seattle greats (Kenny Easley, Cortez Kennedy, Steve Largent, Curt Warner, etc.) and also the not so greats (Rick Mirer, The Boz, Koren Robinson, Kelly Stouffer, etc.)

 

Brings back some good (and bad) memories, and gave me a lot of insight into the teams from the early 80s. Great read for a Seahawks fan, and I would say a pretty good read for a football fan in general.

Funny, funny... But reading about the 1984 Seahawks defense definitely made me a happy camper. Not the best scoring D in the world, but they forced 63 turnovers and had quite a few defensive touchdowns.

 

I'd love to get to watch one of the early 80s 'Hawks teams play...

Finished Golf in the Kingdom. Re-read The Davinci Code. Read Space by James Michener and really enjoyed it.
