Wow! 82, I would be quick to jump on Murray running up the score. Sometimes, as a coach you can put in your 3's and they can still be putting up points. Either way, this is just ugly.

Haha, touche! I forgot about the running clock rule. I was just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt... Odds are, you are right though.

Off this topic, but Hancock put 80 up as well...there comes a point when you have to take SOME responsibility as a winning coach and do what it takes not to score...even with freshman.

Especially with a running clock. All you have to do is take a little bit of extra time to get back to the sidelines after a score and to set the ball up to kickoff, etc.

This is nonsense! I understand getting in some work for the freshman and jv but still this is excessive.

It is the responibility of the opposing team to keep the score from reaching 80, get better, practice harder, schedule easier opponents.

 

You simply can't tell JV & Freshman players to give less then their best against an opposing varsity squad. If Freshman are cleaning up the field with opposing Seniors, it is not a ding on Murray at all. If Murray left their starters in the whole game, that would be a different story.
