July 8, 200917 yr No doubt, that is what your ace does. He got out of some really tough spots today big outing for him and the Reds. He didn't have his best stuff but he made some HUGE pitches in clutch spots.
July 8, 200917 yr Harang did what an ace of the staff is supposed to do. He stopped the bleeding. As bad as the previous 2 games were, they have a shot to string together some wins before the all-star break & remain in contention. There's still a lot of baseball left to be played.
July 8, 200917 yr It was a nice win for the Reds but I still don't see them making the playoffs. They may have a shot to stay in it a few more months if the pitching stays healthy and with the NL being down outside of the Dodgers and maybe Phills.

If they can stay in it a few more months there's no doubt in my mind that they can make the playoffs. The difference with this team compared to year's past is that pitching is its strong point. To me, that's very refreshing.

July 8, 200917 yr Author Hopefully Bailey will be able to throw as well as he did against the Cardinals. Chris Dickerson 8 Jerry Hairston 6 Joey Votto 3 Brandon Phillips 4 Laynce Nix 7 Ramon Hernandez 2 Jay Bruce 9 Edwin Encarnacion 5 Homer Bailey 1
July 8, 200917 yr Who would have ever thought we would see a game where Bruce and Encarnacion are hitting seventh and eighth?
July 8, 200917 yr Who would have ever thought we would see a game where Bruce and Encarnacion are hitting seventh and eighth? Call me crazy but if you look has the glass being half full instead of half empty thats a pretty good sign.
July 8, 200917 yr The Reds are going to have to seriously consider demoting Jay Bruce. If nothing else, let the kid get some confidence going again.

Adam Dunnesque K's without the production that Dunn gives. I know he is young but man he is in a serious funk. Or at least I hope it is a funk. Pedro needs to teach him how to hit a curve ball.
