June 12, 200917 yr Here are some stats from the last week and the Nats series. The Reds scored more than one run in only 3 of 30 innings and a total of 9 runs. (Two in extra Innings). Reds batted 20-105 (.190) for the series with one HR and five doubles against the worst staff in baseball. Cubs series scored more than one run in only 1 of 34 innings. That was the first inning when all three runs were un-earned. Reds batted 23-118 (.195) for series with 2 HR and five extra base hits. Last seven games Reds have scored more than one run in 4 of 73 innings and a total of 18 runs. Reds batted 51-252 (.202) with three HR and nine extra base hits. :irked::irked::irked:

June 12, 200917 yr I'm reading a book called "The Fielding Bible Vol 2" which is a stat geek type book where they come up with ways to quantify defense. Phillips gets dinged for his ability to turn DPs. It seemed sort of appropriate considering that his inability to complete the DP today cost the Reds a few runs. Good book if you're a stat geek and theory geek.

We'd have to look at the numbers, and see how they fair against the other divisions in head to head matchups, and I'm too lazy to do that. :lol:
