Track the Reds (Week 10)

Anyone ever been to KC's stadium? It looks pretty neat on TV with the fountain and all.
I went to a game there in 1987, when Mark McGwire was a rookie. It's a beautiful stadium.

It's hard to watch this team offensively right now. They get two runners on w/ no outs w/ the 4 hitter up and fail to score. Last inning they get a leadoff double and fail to get the runner to 3rd w/ less than two outs. So if you're following my rambling that is two innings in a row they failed to even advance the runner to 3rd w/ less than two outs.

Taveras has to sit or go to the DL. He's absolutely useless to this club right now. Why does he have to play? If he does play is there a rule against him hitting 8th?

Some of us tried to tell you guys that he's a one trick pony and not a good leadoff hitter.

Of course we did ... but he has speed.

The Reds are right in this thing and have no offense. They need to get Votto back and make a move for another bat. They can contend for the division with that pitching staff, they owe it to the town and the fans to go for it.

I hope they do.

I've never been a big fan. I don't mind him playing at times, but Dickerson should be the starter.

An 80 pitch CG?

From a guy w/ an awful ERA coming in. Great effort by the boys. Hopefully they get it going today.

I said Dusty was loyal to a fault. Taveras is like 1 for his last 30 and he plys over Dickerson against a righty. Dickerson played great against the Cubs last weekend and is rewarded with a spot on the Bench. Reds had better get them a new Manager before our window of good pitching closes.

The fact that he is hurt surely doesn't help? What exactly is this one trick? Because he's not even stealing bases that great this year. I don't think anyone expected him to have crazy numbers OBP wise. We knew what we were getting.

I give you Dusty Baker, Reds manager

Pitcher Micah Owings won't be used as a DH.

Have you watched him swing lately? Baker said. He's in a little slump.

Owings is 0-for-his-last-5 at-bats...From the Enquirer

If 0-for-5 is a little slump...what is 0 for his last 28 and 1 for his last 33? (Willy Taveras)

From the blog of Lance.

Dusty has done fine.

Management let Dunn go without having an adequate replacement.

The left side of the field is atrocious offensively.

Will be a 4th place club again and everybody is excited.

Micah Owings is not a hitter. Anyone who steps into the bucket that bad is only going to hit a inside fastball and will never touch a curveball. Not stepping into the bucket is the first thing you are taught in Little League. Coach says you will never be able to hit that way and he was right. No way can you step that way and call yourself a good hitter.
