I don't think the Cubs have more injury issues than the Reds. The Brewers are obviously better offensively than the Reds, but as we know good pitching usually trumps good hitting. I like the position the Reds are in with all of the injuries they have had.

I think Ramirez, Bradley, and Harden are better than Votto, EE, and Volquez, but either way they are going to get better too. I like the position right now too. I just think they aren't going to compete w/o an addition to the lineup.

Hairston Jr. 5

Taveras 8

Phillips 4

Gomes 7

Hernandez 2

Bruce 9

Gonzalez 6

Rosales 3

Owings 1

Really? I'll give you Ramirez over E-5 anyday, but there's not a chance that I would trade Votto and Volquez for Harden and Bradley.

I'm not arguing that at all. I'm saying they don't have enough offense. W/ the exception of two weeks Taveras has been terrible. I love the staff, and I've mentioned before being a small market team they can spend money on pitching or hitting. They are finally trying the right way. I'm just not calling a team 4 games above .500 that good.

St. Louis won the WS just three years ago after going 83-78 in the regular season.

I tell you what it's got to do with . When we led the league in runs scored we were battling the friggin' Pirates to avoid the cellar. We finally have a quality pitching staff and we are in the hunt for the division lead. As for the division, perhaps you should get online and look at the records of other divisions. Pitching wins titles, plain and simple. Heck, I'd love to have both a solid staff and a team with offensive #'s at the top of the list. It's the manager, it's Bruce, it's Stormy, always something. Bottom line is the Reds are a game and a half back. That's what it has to do with.

Me either but Ramirez is their best hitter so I would include him in the 3-3 comparison.

And that haapens how often? I like that they switched philoiphies, but I don't think they have enough offense to win the division. St. Louis got hot at the right time. How often does that happen that a team 5 over wins the title. For what its worth I don't think they were that good either. I'd love for the Reds to win 83 and win the title. I wouldn't bet on it though.

So you would trade Votto, Volquez and E-5 for Ramirez, Haren, and Bradley?

I predict that Dunn will go yard at least once on Owings today.
