June 8, 200917 yr Author I really hope that Lincoln is Dfa'd today. He is terrible. I agree. They need to call up a RH hitting outfielder that can pinch hit for Nix or Dickerson, whenever they bring in a lefty reliever late in the game.

June 8, 200917 yr Big week (again) for the Reds. @ Washington and then 3 @ Kansas City. We could potentially rattle off 6 straight. We'll also miss Zach Greinke in KC, as he's scheduled to pitch Thursday. Greinke has given up something like 8 runs in his last 12 innings, though. Raised his ERA to a whopping 1.55.

Reds pitching is good enough but the offense is just not good enough to sustain a long winning streak. When you play small ball, you have to get runners in from third with less than two outs. With all of our problems, I am surprised Dusty did not try to squeeze at least once. I hope we had fly ball practice today. :ohbrother::ohbrother::ohbrother:

For years they've tried the good offense suspect pitching route. It didn't work. I'm willing to give good pitching and suspect offense a shot. I feel if Votto hadn't missed this much time they would have at least 3 more wins. They need another bat badly. I just don't know where they can get one.

It was clear in December that this team would go as far as the pitching can take us. That remains true today. It seems that the Reds started out playing small ball. We started to get some attention as a legit team & we've started to rely on the HR / big hit again. Votto's saga began and we just don't have the bats.
