Track the Reds (Week 10)

Thinking about putting down $25 on a parlay....Reds need to beat the Royals and combine for 9 or more runs and I win $81.50......good or bad call?

I'd say the Reds will win....doubtful on the 9 runs or more thing though

Perhaps. It is supposed to rain a little in KC tonight.....does that favor the hitters or the young pitchers from both teams?

Brandon Phillips 4

Laynce Nix 7

Ramon Hernandez 3

Jay Bruce 9

Jonny Gomes DH

IMO MLB should have the DH at the NL fields and have the pitchers bat at AL parks.

Or how about we just get rid of the DH?

Never happen with the collective bargaining agreement and besides its much more fun to watch the hitters rather than most (not all) pitchers hit. I would be in favor of allowing teams to use the DH to bat for any of the 9 fielders in the lineup. That way if you have a Zambrano or Owings and want to DH for a light hitting middle infielder or catcher you could.

The DH is the worst thing baseball ever did, in my opinion. If a team wants your bat in the lineup, they have to find a place for your glove, too.

But ... that's for another thread someday.

It may be the worst thing, but it's in every single level of baseball all the way fron high sbhool to MLB except for the NL. Why is it so great to have the pitcher hit in the NL? I don't care what they decide to do although I agree w/ AJG that it will never go away, but they need to have the same rules in both leagues.

It's hard to watch this team offensively right now. They get two runners on w/ no outs w/ the 4 hitter up and fail to score. Last inning they get a leadoff double and fail to get the runner to 3rd w/ less than two outs. So if you're following my rambling that is two innings in a row they failed to even advance the runner to 3rd w/ less than two outs.

Taveras has to sit or go to the DL. He's absolutely useless to this club right now. Why does he have to play? If he does play is there a rule against him hitting 8th?

Anyone ever been to KC's stadium? It looks pretty neat on TV with the fountain and all.

Brutal. They have a guy picked off w/ two outs but the throw from 1st to 2nd was awful. Next pitch is a 2 run bomb. 4-1. The way the Reds are offensively they may not get 5 runs all series.

Went there a couple of weeks ago, before the Reds played the Cards. It is really cool. The crown scoreboard is really nice. The 250 million they put into it made it really nice.
