May 27, 200917 yr I think if he visits Morehead on Friday, he'll be an Eagle. Tyndall is a great recruiter and that will be a good school for Landon that is still close to home. And, it's still DI. Slone imo would be a very good fit at Morehead. I also heard that he would be checking into/hearing from John Pelphry (another Paintsville boy) at Arkansas. At any rate I wish Slone the very best wherever he ends up. Landon Slone plays the game the way it should be played, what he lacks in talent he makes up for in hustle, hard work and desire.
May 27, 200917 yr I think Coach should have just stayed mum on this issue. I don't mind at all that he didn't really address Slone, but I just feel like he added nothing positive by the twitter post. Good luck to Slone wherever he may wind up.
May 27, 200917 yr It was painfully obvious to most that Landon Slone was way over his head at UK. Yes, we love the hustle but hustle isnt enough. Porter hustled and he was much better than Slone yet not good enough to play at a high D1 level. He's a low D1 or , more likely, a solid D2/NAIA player. Lets hope he enjoys his next 3 years and earns a solid education.

For everyone to get upset because he isn't letting Slone stay because he is a KY boy, is ridiculous in my opinion. He doesn't belong even on the practice court as some of these names. I appreciate his hustle, but come on guys. It's not like he is as talented as Chris Lofton. And BTW, we do have a KY boy in Jon Hood.
May 27, 200917 yr Well I now have no reason to watch UK basketball. Every team needs a guy at the end of the bench to wave a towel over top their heads. Sorry guys, this one just hits a little close to home for me. Of course, I hope Landon finds another place to play and I hope UK continues to improve. I guess I was just hoping that his walk-on status would allow him to be part of a special team next season. :laugh:I'm sure Landon Slone will be the deciding factor of not going to a final four next year. The only way John Wall decided to come here is if Slone left.

It is amazing to read what some have to say in the comment sections of Slone articles. I chose ones that were suitable for the entire audience and chose not to put the really ridiculous ones on there. Slone is a great story as a walk-on, but the thought of BCG giving in him a scholarship is overwhelming to me.:ohbrother:

Coach Cal should treat Landon Slone with the same dignity and respect as he would hope for his son to be treated by any coach he might have. John Calapari does owe Landon Slone an apology.
