Then why should Cal apologize to him. He had the best seat in the house for one year. Shouldn't that be enough for a mediocre walk - on?

BCG should have NEVER gotten this boys hopes up that he would get a scholarship. I think LS would fit in great at Georgetown, Campbellsville, etc., but I do not know about D-1.

That was my first thought, as well. They are basically kicking Stewart, Williams, etc. out the door but then they go to pieces when a "Kentucky boy" walk-on is asked to leave.:ohbrother:

 

If Landon was not a walk-on, I could understand it 100%. I was hoping that his walk-on status would allow him to stay on the team. People were kicking the ones you mentioned out the door because UK needed the schollys.

Even with me being a homer, I still understand that Landon was overmatched, but what freshman walk-ons aren't? Their role on a team is different than the rest, and I just felt like Landon was filling that role nicely.

I think his numbers were quite respectable for a true freshman walk-on, but I understand your point.

No apology needed IMO, I would like to see the kid stay, but if he isn't good enough in Cal's eyes to help the program then he isn't good enough, plain and simple. Good luck to him and his future endeavors.

He was upset about not getting to practice with the team. You have to understand that Landon knew that playing time was going to be extremely limited.

And Cal had to evaluate his schlorship players to see who could play and who couldn't. The walk ons had to take a back seat.
