  1. 1992 52nd District Evarts beat a young but very talented Harlan team led by Mike Jones and Charles Thomas.
  2. Lonnie Huff, Tony Morales, Russel Alred, Dondi Noah, Tim Shack..just to name a few more.
  3. Harlan High School in the mid 90's may have come close to this. Charles Thomas had over 3,000 and between any 2 of Todd Cox, Casey Lester, Mike Jones, or Nathan Blanton they could've been close. All of those guys had somewhere between 1,300 - 2,000.
  4. Cawood High School -- Tim Saylor-All State Football, Head Football Coach, Principal, and County Superintendent Harlan High School -- Wah Wah Jones-3 Sport Standout in HS, National Champion at UK and Olympic Gold Medalist Cumberland High School -- Lewis Morris -3 Sport Standout Evarts High School -- Scott Russel-Mr. Football, Held State Record for most yards rushing in a career
  5. I was at the game and it was a good game and good atmosphere. I didn't know much about Station, only went to support a KY team. It really is a good tournament that was started because a group of people in Bristol had attended a tourny in Lexington or Louisville in the early 80's and wanted to create something similar. Also, Derrick Hord played his HS ball at Tennessee High.
  6. He played in the 93 Peach Bowl for UK, so isn't that before Mueller's time?
  7. For the other schools in Harlan County that I watched play, i'll throw out some thoughts: Evarts -- Timmy Browning Cumberland -- Lewis Morris Harlan -- Charles Thomas
  8. I'll put my 2 cents in on this one. I'm not AS old as HDE, but here is what i've seen for a top 10: Phil Cox Nick Sanford Greg Coldiron Boots Smallwood David Hensley Paul Herald Blake Hubbs Everly Eads Lonnie Huff Garry Henson I don't really remember much before Phil's senior year, but i'll throw Coach Coldiron in on word of mouth and the countless H.O.R.S.E games I played with him and Lonnie while in high school. They had battles. I would put Phil ahead of Nick as an overall ball player but it is very close. Would like to know where HDE stands on that one.
  9. John Smith from Middlesboro was the toughest I faced. After that, I had trouble with another Middlesboro guy, a lefty and I think his name was Hood (early 90's) and Brian Schubert from Cumberland.
  10. Nice stats. Does anyone have similar stats on Cawood's playoff record?
  11. I'm waiting on that answer myself???
  12. Eric was a really good player, especially on the defensive side, but it would have been hard to crack that starting lineup at Harlan IMO.
  13. I was a senior at Cawood that year, and Eric came to have a chance to play. HDE nailed that one and I didn't think about it. He would've stayed at Harlan if the other group would have stayed in the County.
  14. Would Eric Hicks have been on that team also?
  15. That would've been a great team. I watched a lot of Cawood basketball from the early 80's until the mid 90s and he ranks as one of my favorites. The kid played as hard as anyone i've watched.
